Rtpcr test to fly out - free? and where?

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

I need a covid rtpcr test in order to fly out of Thailand next week (airlines requiement), done within 72 hours of flying.

I am in Pattaya. Are there free rtpcr tests available anywhere? If not what are the rates and where?

I think you will need to get this at a private hospital.

It won't be free

Bangkok Pattaya is about 3500  tbh for required RT-PCR, same day results.

BPH Hospital has a paper at their registration desk recommending Samitivej Sriracha Hospital and Pattaya Memorial Hospital, where i got mine done for 3500 bahts (not free anywhere that I know). BPH main hospital and Jomtien Hospital do not do the tests anymore.

Here on Samui, one of the local commercial labs is doing the tests and they are more cheap than the hospitals.

Hospitals approx 3,500 THB.

Private clinic just under 3,000 THB

Lab - I was told 2,500 THB

Maybe look for a lab in Pattaya?

As far as I know Bangkok Pattaya is only administering RT-PCR for its own patients, not the public, thus the handout at registration advising "Fit to Fly" customers to contact Samitivej or Bangkok Memorial.

When it states you must have a negative PCR pre departure test , can that be a lateral flow tests or does it have to be a PCR test ?

Lateral flow is OK.

See below.

That would apply if you're not fully vaxxed ie must have 2 shots.

For sure will be a PCR test.

You're right - the change is that quarantine will no longer be required unless they test positive.

Is that official information or a personal opinion ?

Ok.

Just read a 'fuller' report on BBC snd it would appear that, my interpretation, until mar 11 looks like PCR, after mar 11 ATK would be ok.
