Surasak
We had all better keep our wits about us. I can see major problems with money transfers if this control by consent, that is consent of the government, goes ahead. I don't think any of us would like the idea of a snooping dip.

Funny that you say that. I heard on another source that part of this scary plan if enacted would be to shut down use of VPNs. My understanding is that has been done in China with some success on top of making use of VPNs. Many expats need to use VPNs to logon to their financial accounts especially Americans. . .

Popular Post daveAustin
On topic. It’s where Thailand is heading I’m afraid. Very sad to see and it could easily be implemented with the help of their buddies from the north. Sad. Anyone still championing the take over in 2014?
Popular Post waders123
It would appear a page from the CCP playbook is being used on how to have more control over the population. This isn't great for the freedom of any country to restrict or control what is being viewed or said, (within reason), on the internet. This will negatively impact many areas of commerce, not to mention Thailand's cash cow: The Tourist Industry. It seems, freedom is slowly being eroded. This could be one of the saddest days in recent history of this great nation if this so-called "internet gateway" is allowed to be a reality. Popular Post garyk
Thailand has been heading downhill for a long time now. Only tourists I can see coming into Thailand in numbers now is when China opens up and Thailand makes a deal with them to drop all testing and restrictions.
