Opinion: Don’t go down the path of vaccine mandates, rather show anti-vaxxers for who they really are

Obviously I consult a doctor for advice when I encounter a new problem and am looking for ideas.

But in Thailand when they give me antibiotics to fight a viral infection it does make me go hmmmmmmmm .............

And when they want every person in the world vaccinated when there are almost ZERO consequences for the unvaccinated under 50 years old, it also makes me wonder just a little.

All these worldwide precautions for a virus so dangerous/deadly that most people need a test to know they've got it ....... it's all just a little odd to me.

Of course there ARE consequences for unvaccinateds under 50, at best, they can infect many others, some becoming superspreaders.

The unvaccinated under-50 types are keeping the pandemic alive.

LMAO hope you guys enjoy your quarterly boosters.   Someone has to make sure Pfizer reaches their quarterly sales target.   No better feeling than being able to make my own health

  • I must just be lucky, as I completely ignored their 'get vccinated' advise.    Absolutely nothing changed in my life.   And my opinion of "just do it, because they told you to"

  • Anti Vaxxers, putting there best foot forward.

So, you only care about surviving Covid, you don’t care about getting infected, not knowing because you are asymptomatic, and infecting others.

Nice.

Correct.  Other people have had more than enough time to take their own precautions.  If they didn't take any COVID injections, they made that choice.  If they did, they are protected, right?.  Free choice is a beautiful thing.

Ignorance must be bliss.

Omicron is sufficiently infectious that an older vaccinated person can still be infected by an unvaccinated superspreader.

Omicron is also sufficiently infectious that you may find yourself in line for a Herman Cain Award. Thousands of people who thought they could beat Covid have now received their HCA.

Nice.

The vaccinated who may be unknowingly carrying the virus may also potentially be infecting others.

Stats look to be in my favor and for the vast majority of people.

If they are vaccinated, double boosted, and double masked, they shouldn't have much to worry about.  Omicron has been shown to be more infectious but appears to have a lot less death associated with it.

You can't get this one point in your head.  I and many others have made their personal choice to not get any covid injections.  They realize there is a chance of becoming infected and dying but have made their own risk analysis.

Your posts read as an extremely scared person who watches TV and posts on Reddit.  Ignorance must be bliss.

Wow, you are doing your best to disprove your claim about your intelligence.

If some unvaccinated superspreader gets close enough to me, yeah, probably not wearing a face mask, I am liable to be infected, despite my vaccinations.

The difference is that I am less likely to be infected than you, and much less likely to die than you.

Despite your alleged high IQ, if you choose not to get vaccinated, and die from a Covid infection, that would be pretty much the height of stupidity.

I guess you are not paying attention to current events.

The world is suffering the worst plague in 100 years.  The more people who vaccinate, the greater the chance to end the epidemic before the virus mutates again, this time into a more lethal form. You can help stop this plague by vaccinating.

No, I'm vaccinated, I foolishly believed the lies that vaccination would let me regain my personal freedoms. But here I am, still having to wear a mask, social distance, take tests to fly, buy insurance I don't need, kids at home.

Fool me once ..............

Your wrath should be directed at those idiots who are keeping the virus alive by not vaccinating.

That's because you live in Thailand and can't say anything because you live in a conformist society. The government lies, hides the numbers because they know what an international embarrassment it would be to their international medical destination hub if the truth came out.

55/100k people are going to the hospital? 0.055% of those infected will go the hospital.  The 4x doesn't really matter when the absolute % between the two is so small.

It isn't like 30% of unvaccinated go to the hospital while 1% vaccinated go.  In this case it is .055% vs .0138%, who cares.

Wow, you really don’t understand probabilities, do you?

Almost a million dead from Covid in the US now. If you can reduce your risk of joining them by getting vaccinated, I would suggest you do so.

The hospitals care, the doctors and nurses care but unlike the anti vaxxers that end up in hospital they have no choice but to treat them to the best of the abilities even though they have been stretched to the max and many end up getting infected by them.

While those hospitals are busy caring for the unvaxxed they have to put on hold normal routine operations for those that have been vaxxed.

Then YOU should take the appropiate action, and YOU should isolate yourself .... not me.  I've already taken all (few extra) the precautons, successfully, that I'm comforable with.  Your protection is your responsibility, not mine.

And since you know everyone & anyone (vax'd or unvax'd), can get infected & spread the virus, does it really matter if anyone gets vaccinated for your safety.   Seems, IMHO, getting vaccined may or may not, only help the vaccinated person, recover if infected.

If you are vax'd, you can still get infected & transmit to me, just as I, being unvax'd, can get & transmit to you.  Seems an equal playing field.  Me getting vax'd does't seem to help anyone that I may come in contact with.

Being unvax'd isn't an added threat or danger to anyone except the unvax'd person, if he/she/it knows the risk and accepts it.

Just my opinion, and happy to agree to disagree.

Are you suggesting the doctors and nurses aren't vaccinated?

Or the vaccinations didn't work?

Or the doctors and nurses aren't masked and social distancing?

You are posting an old tired cliche.

The vaccinated are far less likely to be infected, and when infected, have a much shorter infectious period.

You are doing your best to avoid reality: vaccination saves lives.

Okay, it’s your night for stupid questions.

The greater the exposure to the virus, the greater the chance of infection. Those who are vaccinated are less likely to be vaccinated, but they are still at risk.

And yes, there are still deadender doctors and nurses who don’t vaccinate.

Its been almost over 2 years now of covid 19 and over 1 year of vaccinating people.

1st it was 2 doses then 3 doses now it seems 4 doses of vaccine with never ending booster shots.

The virus is continually morphing and it still seems it is around and not going anywhere even within high vaccinated populations.

Time to give everyone their freedom back and if govts are concerned they should provide more hospitals and more medical personnel to cover all illnesses for their citizens.

Time for people to take personal responsibility for themselves and for govt to stay out of minutely regulating everyones lives.

Typical totally ignore the burden on the hospitals and the consequences of it and focus on the already known fact that Omicron has high vaccine evasion capabilities. Even though being fully vaxxed helps stop you getting infected it is not 100% but it is better than not being vaxxed.

Build more hospitals and create more doctors is not a viable solution.

I can imagine you during World War 2: “it’s been 3 years and we are still fighting the Germans. They don’t seem to be giving up, so we might as well learn to live with them”.

The virus is relentless, it will take advantage of stupid people who don’t vaccinate, first by killing as many of them as possible, and by using their bodies as hosts for mutations.

if you are tired of the plague, encourage as many to vaccinate - that is the key to ending the virus.

Of course more doctors and hospitals are viable, govts are unlimited with the power and money and control they have and rules they could make, govts should stop warmongering and rather direct that money to other areas which would benefit their citizens.

….or people could vaccinate. Easy choice.

I can agree with those 2 statements.  I know the risk of beng unvax'd & accept that.

Why can't you accept my choice, as it affects you in no way what so ever.  I carry the same risk of infected you, as a vaccinated person.  We both can get & transmit.

If everyone was vaccinated, then only vaccated people would be getting & transmitting the virus.  Not seeing any difference, you would stll be at risk.

But many people are vacinated and the virus is still mutating and infecting and vaccinated people are getting sick, have to test quarantine  and be controlled.
