Yes. But, to be fair, Thailand surrendered years ago.

The only upside to living here is cheap rent and readily available sex.

The only foreigners that survive on Thai food are skint or too lazy to cook for themselves

Your shopping sources must be inferior to mine.

Is that how much you paid for them?, you were robbed.

Yes, fresh fruit is an accurate proxy for a country's livability.  It's middle of winter in Canada right now, not exactly fresh fruit season. Idiot.  And living in Canada right now is just dandy, thank you very much. Obviously you have no clue in what you are saying.  Sheesh!

Canadians bravely suffer their (at least away from the West Coast) abominable winters, but they suffer greatly under their Dear Leader, Kim Il Trudeau.

Don't be foolish.... coin is there to give you a size reference. I have no idea what was paid for them, Mrs brought some back from the market. Knowing her it would not be too much!

Yes, but at least the Durian crop can survive the onslaught

Not sure about the seafood though. Especially the prawns.

I don't know ... many Russian speakers in Phuket needing protection from the native population ... no, I am not serious, just applying Putin logic.

In fact Thailand never surrendered to anyone in the last decades.

That's Thai Freedom.

It beats Philadelphia Freedom by a country mile.

Compared to my home country - cheap rent, cheap utilities, cheap food, GREAT weather, plenty of companionship for rent available, a 90-day online reporting system that FINALLY works well. What's not to love?

Dogs.  Road accidents.  Sleeping policemen.  Not being able to own your own house.

Air pollution, terrible driving standards, poor education system, mostly moronic Tv, corruption, undemocratic and the archaic fuedal social system as well as the vast wealth inequality?

Right now? The air is 'freezing'......I am wearing a fleece most days....it is wonderful.

Strawberries, raspberries and blueberries have been available in Sainsburys/Tesco all year round for around 2.50/bag (120bht) for years. I never considered them a luxury and I've never seen anything available like this in Thailand.

Until this year Cavendish bananas weren't easily available in Thailand either, Thai bananas I feed my rabbits as they taste awful ..... not fit for human consumption IMHO.

I agree with most of what you write. But strawberries in Thailand are just not what strawberries are supposed to be.

Where in Thailand can you get strawberries like this?

Grow our own and they are as good as any I've eaten around the globe

Cheap as chips to live.
Great golf courses.

Empty beaches and crystal clear beaches.

Cheap gym fees.

Gorgeous women.

Great food.

Travel across the globe from here is easier.

Cold beer anywhere, anytime.

Great gardening weather.

Smiling Thai's.

Hilarious paradox and contradiction abound.

Delicious fruit all year round.

Gaffee buran everywhere.

Live as lazily or as frenetically as you like and nobody shames and judges you for either.

I can be an spy a diplomat a mega rich falang a Nobel Prize winner a fighter pilot all in one day lol ????????

Unfortunately they don't have decent soil to raise good strawberries, IMO.

Not worried about the pandemic/endemic as I used to with Delta, now with the Omicron variant, family also being vaccinated and me boosted.

As for the weather conditions, well it has been a little chilly lately which I don't mind before we enter the summer oven.

As for WW III, can't see that happening, this could all be part of the bigger plan to plunge economies further into the red, while the commies expand there territories, no doubt China will be ready to pounce into Taiwan as it sees the USA, the UK and Europeans forced to sit on their hands by Russia, and they know if they try to escalate things, that it just might turn into a nuclear war, they also know that there are no profits in wiping each other out, share and share alike boys, wait your turns.

Wonder what's next in store for us, well from where I'm sitting, as far away as possible from the outside world, I'm chilled and enjoying the cheap cost of living here with plenty of everything, well not so much the fresh fruits I used to get my teeth into so to speak, but am patient, no b-l-o-o-d-y- choice really.

But is Russia a communist country? The communist party only got 19.5% of the vote in the last election (2021). Putin's party is an extreme right wing cabal somewhat similar to the nazi party in 1930s Germany, with similar actions and ambitions.

Lost me - can only think you are referring to Russian speaking pussy?

I can forget about having to deal with American women (like my ex, etc.) in any way shape or form. I no longer need to be reminded why I left, I know well.

Actually I am going on a picnic to Nai Yang Beach ????

Getting better steadily.

Just goes to show you how up to date I'm not. Now if that is the case, that's scarier than being a commie.
