At the 11th Emergency Special Session of the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, Thailand expressed grave concern over the worsening hostilities and violence in Ukraine.

Dr. Suriya Chindawongse, Thailand’s Permanent Representative to the UN, said that the use of military force has led to loss of lives, including those of innocent civilians, and destruction of property and civilian infrastructure.

He pointed out that, since ASEAN issued a statement on the situation in Ukraine on February 26th, the armed hostilities have intensified and casualties continue to rise.

Thai diplomacy is changing fronts every week.
how long that "friendship" will last?

there are still pending armaments orders from russia and ukraine.
Need for an ammunition might force thai to beg russia for speeding up opening factory on thai soil, to avoid embargoes. Otherwise already bought guns will become useless toys

Wow! Simply amazing....

Only a few days ago, they were saying it's not our business and would not condemn the invasion.
Now it's a grave concern.

No sincerity what so ever!

Interestingly enough, he talked about "hostilities" etc... but didn't mention that Russia was the culprit. Well, at least in the article.

They talked about the victim, Ukraine by name but still refused to name Russia as the aggressor country/ Just another waste of weasel words and means nothing.

Silence about the situation of genocide in Myanmar and refugees, Nothing to talk? It’s happening in your borders.

Considering that Putin saying that Ukraine is not a real country, makes me think that he has gone insane.

I do hope that some other Russians who are not crazy are able to, see this is the case and remove him as

the leader of Russia.  The guy is unhinged to say the least. It is too bad that the media in Russia is not

allowed to tell any truth, except Putin\s truth. Scary times.  Thailand should feel a grave concern, as everyone

should.

Thanks StarG,

Thank the gods someone has a grasp of reality not 'alternate facts' (delusions), and offers up common sense. Well said. I also hope the Russian people will remove this sick man and put him and those who have enabled him in prison for a very very long time. Oh! ... and give the 90%+ wealth of the nation back to the people and out of the hands of the 1% (crime-oligarchs) who have stolen it from the Russian people.

Yep thats war for you....

I hope Thailand remembers this stance toward aggressive invaders.  Because another very large country in this neighborhood is eying a small country close by for invasion.

The statement they released was mealy mouthed and avoided even naming Russia.

You might be surprised to learn that not everyone sees Russia as the culprit. Some with  longer memories see the foul murdering hand of the US and EU in the overthrow of a legitimate democracy in 2014.

Are you talking about the Russian illegal annexation of Crimea?

Do a simple Google search and see what you come up with. I just did and merely posted to 4 links, 2 for and 2 against.

After that you pays your money and makes the choice.

Not only in Ukraine. there are so many farther on.

Do you have any links to that or is it just your opinion?

In this particular event , likely they do see Russia as the aggressor. As to 8 years ago, wasn't that all about Ukraine people  not wanting to be aligned with Russia as the corrupt Government wanted... preferring to look Westwards to the EU? Don't recall EU military getting involved?

Perhaps it was on the Snake Island where now everything was destroyed incl. the soldiers with posthumous award that however, they cannot wear when they are returned back home.

But they supported the UN General Assembly motion condemning the Russian invasion - deeds rather than words are more important in this instance.

You are correct about people with longer memories.

Do you remember Hungary in 1956

or Czechoslovakia in 1968.

Did you see the foul murdering hand of the US and Europe back then?

See, I even put some links in for you to check.

I do remember the foul murdering hand of Russia and the Warsaw pact countries though.

Perhaps it was in Disney Land or LaLa land. If you are going to post allegations then please had the decency to pot the links to them, otherwise your posts are just trolling.

The official Russian account of the incident differs dramatically. Moscow said the 82 Ukrainian soldiers on the island surrendered it to them voluntarily and made no mention of carrying out strikes or inflicting casualties.
