The Tourism and Sports Ministry is planning to propose the cancellation of the “Thailand Pass” scheme and introduce a single ATK test to welcome international tourists and spur tourism growth.

Just drop the whole saga, tests, documents, insurance, blah blah blah.

Do forget about the vaccination. its rubbish. What if the vaccin is already 4/5 months old and has no effect anymore???

Vaccination is neither proof that you are not infected nor that you will not infect.

The countries with the highest rate of vaccination are countries with the most number of infected population.

Yes, forget about vaccination.

The disparity in the regulations is absurd, gogo bars are open but girls cannot dance on stage in a bikini because that would be an increased covid risk? yet hundreds to gather together in public is fine as long as they dont dance or wear bikinis..... the girls that is.

Lunatics running the asylum.

90% of flights are not direct so the pcr test before flights will still be needed if transiting through a country that requests them or using an airline that requests them. So nothing has really changed

Desperately trying to put lipstick on a pig. Until they do something about testing & an asymptomatic result getting you tossed into the hospital, and the insurance does not pay, it means nothing. Why would tourists want to risk it?

Spot on

Why not drop the Thailand pass immediately?what so difficult about returning the happiness?

They can't, the unelected soldier posing as a PM and the rest of his soldiers know that when, not if, things return to near normal, the protesters will arrive in Bangkok in their thousands.

Thai citizens already in Thailand could not care less about the Thai Pass. The emergency decree is more apropos.

If now there is  an unelected soldier posing as a PM, who is the PM?

I think there will be a good few UK expats living in Thailand right now who intend going there in the very near future now that their country has completely opened up, but are waiting to see how hard or easy it will be to get back in to Thailand, with the Junta's insurance scams and other money making schemes.

How many of them are or would be among the protesters in the thousands protesting in the streets of Bangkok?

Using that logic, the world will never ever get back to normal because there will always be the possibility of a mutation, and another novel virus for that matter.

Sensible precautions, yes. But restrictions based on a theoretical possibility, would mean living in fear for eternity.

It will be the 'new normal'....

But I don't go along with the other statement.... when the number of active cases is very low, the chance of mutations is significantly diminished.

The few on here who complain about what Thailand does or does not do will not change if they lift the entry requirements. They will just change their focus back to the extension of stay or even better the 90 day report. Whiners always need something to whine about.

Well it must be very frustrating for some when they know they would be much better at running the affairs of the Kingdom than those who now run the affairs of the Kingdom.

You need to ask why they risk it. In Bangkok a week ago the hotel I stayed at was full of people waiting for their ok to move on.

And you asked them all why they were risking it?

Tourist?

Returning to their home base?

Business?

Family sickness/bereavement?

The list goes on.

There will always be a need for some people to travel.

Do not assume that all inividuals travel purely for the thrill of it.

The loss of the Non-Imm-O Multiple!

Not being able to use 25 back to back tourist visas.

etc etc

Yes but just drop it all with just unvaxxed banned from flying / entry. This, combined with Open ASEAN Borders & Embassy Tourist Visa return, will recover tourism and reestablish the old border runs !
