Never having been to the Americas, I'd be interested to know about living costs, nightlife, girls, quality of life (compared to Thailand) when retiring to Panama, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic...

Dominican Republic has a bit of the ol' Pattaya vibe. Panama too. You have to like 'em a little big in the can.

 

I know 3 people that got food poisoning in DR tho. Def skip the potato salad.

 

And have health insurance. They won't let you get on the plane home without paying through the nose.
