Pattaya — An Indian tourist’s gold necklace was stolen in his hotel room allegedly by a woman he met on Pattaya beach and invited back to his room as a “guest”.

The victim was reportedly bewildered after the police left him with only a police report. This is the fourth time a similar crime seemingly targeting Indian tourists happened in the Pattaya area recently.

Around 01.00 a.m. today, May 11th, Mr. Akash Choudhary, a 26-year-old Indian tourist, and his friend with an unidentified name and age reported to Pol Lt. Col. Anyone else notice a pattern emerging here?

Leave them home or put them in the hotel room safe.

Just wondering why he took it off...

Is this because we have a substantial number of naïve Indian tourists?

Or is it some insurance scam commonplace with them?

If this isn't a scam, the pattern sure smells like one.

True to pattern another tourist goes poncing off to beach road without securing his valuables.

Perhaps if he knew full disclosure to intl media would result he would not admit to his mongering. Or maybe it is all part of the plan? Anyway, this kind of thing is hardly still newsworthy.:coffee1:.

If they are purchasing a travel insurance which cover valuables then yes it is a scam if not then they need to start thinking by their head, not the one which is making them travel to Thailand!

Probably some import tax scam

If you don't want to "give it away" then don't bring it.

Well a fool and his money or in this case Gold, are soon parted.

Most smart people do not wear expensive jewelry on vacation.

Trusting a one night guest may not be the wisest thing to do as well.

And they want to trick the above average to come live here.   But they say don't wear your valuables.

For all those Indian who want to show how wee to do they are, get yourself one of those imitation gold chains that looks even better than the real one and where half a dozen of them while gallivanting around Pattaya....

When will they learn. Put all your valuables in the safe when inviting a lady in.

You can’t fix stupid.

He left it out on a counter in his room and went to use the restroom, the lady had fled.

No Sh!t lealy who'd have thunk that happening.

The guest got the gold necklace and the Indian STD.

my Mate said when he was in pattaya and took back a guest to his room a Identity card had to be shown or left at the desk..that way any problems .ie theft the guest would be known..

Thats what my Mate said

Oh dear , Oh dear, Oh dear!

My guess is, the Indian Travel insurers will soon either top insuring gold necklaces "stolen by ladies/ladyboys of the night!" or else charge a hefty premium !!

This flaming idiot sounds like he left it right out in the open and expected the lady of the night, a complete stranger, to be a woman of total honor.

Anyone in their right mind has the sense to lock their valuables and cash up. If not in a safe, then in a locked piece of luggage. Out of sight, out of mind, and out of harms way. Very, very basic survival skills.

Sorry, but my heart does not bleed for fools.

That's a typo.

Should read 'by a ladyboy he met on Pattaya Beach'
