CCSA to consider changing Thailand Pass requirement next week

BANGKOK (NNT) - Changes to the current Thailand Pass requirement for international travelers will be revisited at the full panel meeting of the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) on 20 May.

 

Under the current entry requirements, all international travelers, including returning Thai nationals, are required to get an entry clearance by obtaining their Thailand Pass online prior to departure.

 

Several changes to the requirements have been made throughout the course of the pandemic, with testing now not required for all vaccinated travelers.

 

Dr. Apisamai Srirangsan, an Assistant Spokesperson for the CCSA, said the center has received several inquiries on future changes to the current Thailand Pass requirement, which is now being considered by the CCSA operations center (CCSA-OC).

Proposed changes considered by the CCSA-OC will then be proposed at the full-panel CCSA meeting on 20 May for final approval.

 

The CCSA-OC also discussed the preparation for the 17 May school reopening for the new semester, based on the preparedness of each school.

 

Schools that are not well prepared, and schools with lower vaccination uptake, may opt to arrange online classes for the time being, based on the consideration from their provincial communicable disease committees.

Those in charge of any schools not prepared by now should be immediately fired and replaced with anyone who has a mirco gram of brain matter.

I've just done the TP, no paperwork involved, no uncertainty, and all approved in a matter of hours. Very easy.

i arrived 25th march.Took only 15 minutes at airport.Went to qarantine hotel for a nigth.Took the pcr-test there.Negative.Went to another hotel in bkk.Next day to korat.Took a ATK test on day 5.Negative.Shoved the ATK to the hotel.They didnt care at all.I never send anything via mor chana app.No problems at all when i left bkk.

I agree except for the outpouring on here and elsewhere about the unfairness of it needing you to be insured.

 

From the numbers, it might be that over 50% of travellers are not insured and see nothing wrong in travelling without insurance.

 

The alternative could be an immigration requirement but that would be hugely difficult with airlines stopping people travelling.

 

Nevertheless, I think some form of insurance for you, not against covid but against injury, should be required for any travel.

I applied for Thailand Pass yesterday, for an upcoming quick trip stateside and then a return home to Thailand next month.

The Thailand Pass process took 5-7 minutes, cost nothing and was easily understood and accomplished. I literally had my approval and QR code before dinner.

It was a snap and caused zero problems.

if completing this simple process is too much hassle for people I am amazed they have what is required to navigate the airline purchase process to get a ticket.

it seems highly doubtful  the Thailand Pass is the culprit in preventing travelers from coming to LOS

most people abroad probably still assume it requires a PCR test once entered

Unfortunately you are wrong. I know people that won't go to Thailand until the Thailand Pass is scrapped in its entirety. It's also quite a common theme on social media.

In your first papagraph you talk about returning home to Thailand.

Your last paragraoh you talk about travelers.

You are measuring apples and oranges or chalk and cheese.

Totally different kettle of fish.

TP and insurance  is an immense turnoff to my Aussie mates.

But also quite unnecessary.....      

 

..... And there is paper work involved... you had to submit your Insurance, vaccination, passport and go through the application itself...    Thats all ‘paper-work’ (in the modern / digital sense)....

The issue for many is the silly theatre now involved.....   the process of having to apply for approval to enter Thailand itself is no longer necessary at all...  its a waste of time. 

 

The fact that its still necessary at all is just a bit silly....  and for some irritating to have to jump through that ‘unnecessary extra hoop’.

 

 

For some... that extra hoop, not knowing the process and then having to search for insurance which would be approved by the Thailand Pass system is sufficient enough for them to go elsewhere, why bother with that effort...

Yet they are able and willing to get a visa. They must have some type of TP phobia. Are they simply too simple minded to figure out the process? Are they just adamant that they won’t come to Thailand unless someone does everything needed for them?

Its not pointless for the high-ups in the Gov who are reaping big profits from this charade.  Don't expect them to give up the gravy train without a fight.

I just hope politely they don't have a real definition of the word Change?  And actual mean scrap (too harsh?)  do away? end?  Get rid?  Not required?  

Better yet " No more TP we are Back to Land of Smiles "  June 1st! ????
