The Russian soldiers refusing to fight in Ukraine

Some Russian troops are refusing to return to fight in Ukraine because of their experiences on the front line at the start of the invasion, according to Russian human rights lawyers and activists. The BBC has been speaking to one such soldier.

"I don't want to go [back to Ukraine] to kill and be killed," says Sergey - not his real name - who spent five weeks fighting in Ukraine earlier this year.

He is now home in Russia, having taken legal advice to avoid being sent back to the front line. Sergey is just one of hundreds of Russian soldiers understood to have been seeking such advice.

Putin is aware of this and the need for more troops, probably why last week he signed the order to scrap the upper age limit to join the Russian armed forces. They admit they have a demographic gap

Extra rations and a free week aboard a super yacht in Vladivostok.

Many Russian citizens and military personnel are against this military action.  Unfortunately if the military  personnel refuse or make it known to their superiors.  It is considered treason and they will face dire consequences.

A post and reply advocating a political assassination have been removed.

I mentioned this when it all started,Russian men trying to get out of the country while they still could.

This new ruling of his will probably be the end of russian tourists here except for the really rich ones but they will go elsewhere.

I wish those responsible for bringing this calamity on the peoples of Ukraine and the russans peoples as well were the ones to suffer the consequences……….sad

Didn't they learn from the English examples of the soldiers who didn't go over the top to face certain death... the officer bloke who stood behind them put one in the head?

As it is written in stone...

Young Men,the cream of the crop, sent off to die to settle old men's arguments.

Nothing changes

If anybody cares to dig deeper than the MSM you will discover seemingly authentic reports of Ukraine soldiers also refusing to fight and quitting their posts.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeFSGUPemzc&t=492s

I don't claim to comprehend the current conflict.  But it seems that virtually nobody in the media, or even in politics, knows anything at all about Russo-Ukraine relations over the past century or earlier.

I have not yet seen any mention of Stalin's Holodomor - the Russian state engineered starvation of Ukraine and the oppression of the Kulaks in the '30's that killed at least 4 million, or the fact that many Ukranians did actually join the German army in WWII and there were even Ukraine SS brigades.  Treblinka was virtually manned solely by the Ukranian SS.

If you research this you will become to understand Putin's reference to Ukraine Nazis and some of the bitterness that exists between the two sides.

This is a propaganda war that Ukraine is winning if you believe the western MSM.  But in reality, the Russians are not the Keystone army the MSM would have us believe, and on the ground, they are achieving their objectives.
