Daily News Thai Caption: Not easy to "wai" like that

Daily News reported that Thai netizens were having fun online after a clip of a man in a balaclava doing some strange stunts on a motorcycle went viral.

It happened on Pahonyothin Route 1 in Nakhon Sawan, northern Thailand.

Of particular interest to Thais was one of the man's moves - lying down doing a kind of backward "wai" over the rear wheel.

Someone suggested that the guy would soon be "waiing" food laid out amid joss-sticks at his funeral.

Others were more serious pointing to the fact that such irresponsible riding could result in trouble for other road users.

Siam Rath followed up on the story and discovered that the Payuhakeree police soon had 49 year old Chat Phumkasem from Yang Tan in custody and had confiscated his Honda Wave 125.

They reported that he was behaving like a crazy guy though there were no drugs in his system.

Chat said: "I hadn't been drinking - I like to do stuff like this".

Police were gathering evidence and a variety of charges are expected to be filed against Chat at 9 am this morning (Monday).

I saw the full video.

This guy is a danger to himself and everyone on the road.

49, I thought he was a teenager, at 49yo the guy should know better.

Can you control a scoot in anyway like that it takes practice.

Why shouldn't you have fun at any age, he got caught because it was filmed.

Yes, I agree but not on public roads, plenty of safe places in Thailand for this sort of stuff.

The guy was laying on his back, what if a small child or animal ran in front of him.

We must protect other road users.

It's just opens a can of worms why are parents and pet owners allowing small children and pets to run out in the road. ????????

pretty remote for a child on the motorway ! Though plenty of stationary objects for him to hit

I take my Ducati to Bira circuit on track day, that's just around the corner, plenty of these types of venues around Thailand.

I was into bikes a long time ago, aged 16 I had to get from home to work...

no early morning buses in my neck of the woods back then.

So for the fist year it was the "Fizzy" Yamaha FS1E 50cc moped.

Then got onto a Kawasaki 250 which I kept for 5 years as a summer rider.

Aged 17 I took & passed my driving test, got a licence and a car saved up for during my first year apprenticeship.

When the marriage and family came along the bike went in favour of a more reliable car.

Never got the urge to get back on one.

Nonsense that is why you can't name 5.

If you do own a Ducati and have been to Bira you would know the straight is not really long enough.

I agree it was the same in UK you had fun on some quiet roads they didn't provide for kids to have fun on bikes without a great deal of cost.

This road looks remote too, but the kid still found a dog to hit, now the parents are without their child.

Did a small wheelie today but only because of low gear acceleration.

Never mind landed safely. ????

Post a video next time so we can all have a laugh. ????

Don't like doing wheelies actually and don't see the point of a video, most bikes will wheelie if you make them but not all on just accelerating.

I want to know how the bike kept going with no hand on the accelerator.

Easy fix, several ways of getting the twist handlebar throttle grip to stay in a fix position.
