The operators of a pop up store selling cannabis and other cannabis related products have reported brisk business following demand for Thailand’s newly decriminalized herb.

Mr. Thien Seng Methanopakhun, manager of 789 Thongthai Herb, a community enterprise based in Pranburi, which has opened a pop up store in Market Village Hua Hin says their products have proved a hit with customers, especially with foreigners.

Mr. Thien says his store has up to ten different cannabis strains on sale, such as “OG Kush”, “Mobi Dick” and “Crescendo”. The store also sells cannabis honey, balm, brownies, and seeds for customers who wish to grow cannabis themselves.

Customers need to be aged 20 and above and if people want to grow it at home, they should register with the Plook Ganja app, Mr Thien said.

I will be happy when these stores set up their websites.

As well as being able to order online, it may bring about a price war, in order for shops to be competitive.

Won't the price war only begin when there is an over supply of product ?

Assuming the government doesn't introduce the sort of legislation that made commercial brewing the cosy monopoly that it is.

Like that won't happen with the govt giving away 1 million plants and every Thai person allowed 6 plants.

A perfect storm waiting to happen?

Never forget...out of confusion comes clarity

Someone on some forum (maybe this one?) claimed they got high THC weed delivered via Grab.

What they are selling has a lot more than 0.2% THC.

Most strains of weed on sale are 12% - 25% THC and the brownies, cookies, gummies etc are made with the same weed, so have the same effect.

As far as I can see most of the dispensaries are openly selling edibles with high THC levels.

They are already online.

It's very easy to find them.

Go onto Instagram and you can find weed, edibles etc order via line.

I am talking about web-site, not Instagram.

I don't do social media otherwise I would have gone on that Facebook thing.

Just like it works for the housing market here...

We are talking about being able to sell a product, not advertise things at an unrealistic price that then remains on the market for months if not years as is the case of the housing market here.  Are you Thai by any chance ?????

So ฿500 for 1 doobie, 2 if you like toothpicks.

As much as I enjoy smoking one every once in a while, that's a silly price.  Sorry, nothing can be that good.  Unless you get 5 good buzzes out of 1 joint.   Don't think so, unless I'm missing something, and 1 good hit will last an hour or 3.

you are missing something and one good hit will certainly last an hour or longer.

a one gram joint would put you down hard.

But Viagra is cheaper.......Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

thanks pete, always nice to hear the geriatric sex tourist spin, but some of us aren't particularly worried about that.  Besides, weed is legal, last I heard prostitution was still a no no.
