Thailand delays minimum wage hike to 400 baht by two weeks
Twice now. 1st time, no reps from the employer's side bothered to show. Wonder if they blew it off again? If they fail to get a quorum a 3rd time, is it automatically discarded? -

Buying Thai Quota condo using a company name.
What is illegal with a company buying a condo? He state he will rent it out. It might just be that works as a part of the company´s business. Taken into accounting, and taxing the income after costs, will be perfectly legal. It´s also legal for the company to own the house you are living in, as long as you declare and pay fair rent to the company. If things are done right in the open, there is nothing illegal. What is illegal is to setup a company only for holding your residence without any active business in the company. -

Australian Aged Pension
Interesting. So, after being away for years, if over 60, can one fly straight back to Australia and claim Newstart, whilst waiting for the aged pension and portability? Do you have to re-establish residency for Newstart? -

14-Year-Old Girl Fatally Stabs Grandmother Following Heated Argument
A few years ago, I saw an young school girl give the finger to a much older woman and I was shocked. Known Thailand since 1970. Never thought I would see that. -

TRAMADOL
One poster was talking about 50mg tablets, other posters were speaking of mg's per 24 hour period and I was speaking of 37mg tablets. Far less confusing to speak to the total number of mg's rather that the number of tablets. -

Expat Investment Advisors
Excellent summary Whatever the self interested pushers of these schemes might argue on here, there is absolutely no genuine reason for any expat to lose control of their investments to schemes such as these. This world is filled with chancers and scammers we all need to be careful and watchful. -

Bottled water tested, results
Banned anyway, but good luck with that if you are active and perspire a lot, only to bung in a ton of dead RO water which will do practically nothing to hydrate you other than make you lightheaded. We did not evolve by drinking dead water. Anyway, apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but looking for alternatives to the Amtech big bottle deliveries which have tasted off and weird the last few times. I mean, you never get to see the bottle cleaning in action or filter maintenance. Have had own filtration in Chiang mai but where I am now the tap water is so bad that it clogs these systems up fast. Will probably revert to big brand bottled water and use the stuff from Amtech for cooking only. -

Australian Aged Pension
I had met some Aussie backpackers in some bars, all over Thailand, some years ago. I started some chit chat. How long is your trip, where are you going etc. Ended up more than a few told me they were on what I think was the old Newstart, called Austudy. They could do a Mickey Mouse online course, submitting assignments online, whilst backpacking around South East Asia. Basically, a working holiday on the Australian tax payer, for 2 years. When I asked what sort of course is that, it was some Certificate 3 or Certificate 4 in b*gger all. When asked "How can that take a year?" Answer, "I'll do another one when I finish this one, so 2 years." So, one each each. I remember asking one kid where he was from, and him telling me from one of the wealthier suburbs of Sydney. He appeared to be an over confident smart a**, but well spoken, thus possibly a good education, so I believed it to be true. Australia - The Lucky Country. -

If you only use it for that, then you will have a pink id card as well. -

Thai man alleges police officer assault over Laotian bar girl
Has nothing to do with CSI Miami, but it´s good of you to specify which version of the series you liked most. What a do have very much knowledge of, is phone, ssd and hard disk forensics. That was what I talked about, even if you didn´t have enough knowledge to understand. You just made a silly everyday comment instead. -

I did. I was commenting on what someone else was saying as part of the discussion. You should be able to see that.
