Thai authorities will keep track of the Omicron subvariants, BA.4 and BA.5, especially from European travelers after the Thailand Pass registration is canceled, the government said on Wednesday.

Following the removal of the Thailand Pass on July 1, public health officials were told to monitor the outbreak situation in Europe, after reports of Covid-19 case surges in European nations.

“The authorities will plan ahead of time to handle incoming tourists,” said Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana, the government spokesman.

Why bother? It's already here because it's already everywhere else.

It doesn't matter.

Find that a bit offensive really. Why not the Chinese who may have just as many unknown variants that they have hidden from the WHO and have not been discovered by the outside yet due to Chinese travel ban that may be released ?

Because mutations occur. More so in countries with low vaccination numbers and many people traveling...Thailand has such borders.

Because of the Chinese travel ban.

they want the Travel Pass back asap..... Try to plan a trip is very difficult, because if I book now for October I don't know what will happen if I come back.

Your question doesn't make sense.

The medical industrial complex are finding it hard to let go.

And the CCSA.

It should be that doctors are looking out for Omicron. Its not a government's job to look after anyone's health. You don;t visit your representative's office to get help with your health. Nor do you go to  public health officials or the local outlet of the WHO.

Not to worry.

They're working on the next venture as we speak.
