I think it is strange that looking through all the photos she looks different in every one. camera angles and make up I guess.

Oh I forgot my Beer Goggles at home, better get them and look again.  Holy cow after putting on the BG she is a raving beauty you see at 2am when leaving the bar and upon waking up you gnaw of your arm rather then wake her before you leave....

What a shame, some of us are more like dogs, with our assumptions, than human.

Well she made the cover of MUTT magazine so perhaps you were expecting too much.

Don't think Thais know what mutt means in English.

....... in the eye of the beholder, simple as that.

Interesting though are those still existing dinosaur laws; wondering what triggered off this particular beauty of legality ????

She's OK looking but anyone else getting the Thai Women's Volleyball pop up ads?  Everyone one of them is much better looking and much better shape than she is.

In UK, and other countries now, we would not be allowed to use the word 'stunner' as it can be deemed sexist. We can hardly use the word 'girl' or 'woman' !

What about Bimbo?

Sexist - therefore invalid - if only women are not allowed to take part in beauty contests.

But could they stand the competition from the guys?

The magazine would get a lot more interest if they simply added an 'S' to the front of the name...

IMHO she needs to hit the gym.   Wonder how tall she is?   It's always a bummer when you see a 'stunner' here, then she stands up and she's 146cm tall!

"womenstruating person" "womenstruating people".

You cannot use "women" because it contains the word "men". You have to use "personstruating person". Actually, you cannot use "son" either because it refers to a male. Maybe "perspawnstruating perspawn" might get accepted by the idiots.

PerSONally, I would just shorten the word to gender neutral "it".

it was ridiculous that in this day and age

Such a meaningless phrase.  The are so many things that shouldn't happen in Thailand "in this day and age".

Many suggest that "in this day and age" we shouldn't have beauty pageants at all!

It's all a matter of perspective.  Many would say beauty contests in generally are prehistoric and have no place in a modern and progressive society.

Sure, we really need teachers to be in a potion to be referred to as "Thai stunners in uniform".  I'm sure the profession won't lose any respect that way. ????

If one has it, there's nothing wrong with earning a few quid from it....????

Something like 60 posts about this report up to this point, and only four even remotely address what the topic is about - Thailand's last century and puritanical rule that a certain profession cannot take part in the contest. Instead, most posts are at about the level of what 10 year olds might come up looking through their first porn magazine.

Apart from the fact that a rule is said to exist, no-one has actually told this teacher that she would be disciplined, and her own boss is fully behind her taking part. I wonder who the 'respected elder' is that persuaded her not to continue.
