If Mr Patel (it means farmer or peasant, in Hindi), holds a false passport,

then how can he be described as British in the OP? Fake British, maybe . . .

Is Patel an Indian name?

One of the most common Indian surnames, Patel, was a status name from a Hindu and Parsi name for a village herdsman. It is one of the most common Indian surnames in Britain, with over 100,000 bearers recorded in the 2011 census,” it said.Dec 2, 2559 BE

No surprise there, this is common knowledge to anyone who can read.

a) Its not Hindi, it is Gujarat word used by Hindus.

b) It means village headman, not farmer or peasant

You think that's bad? There's some deluded bloke named Rishi Sunak who thinks he's British enough to be PM. Go figure.

Thats an extremely racist thing to say , its quite normal and common for British people names from a non British origin and they are just as British as John Smith from Macclesfield

Why Prayut not make some crackdown on corruption in the RTP??

What's in it for him? Nothing. That's why not. You think someone who removed from power a democratically elected government cares about police corruption?

Well I for one am shocked that Big Joke was involved.

He seems like such a nice, honest, upstanding fellow.

The way it reads, his involvement was not of a participate, but of an investigator. "Pol Maj-Gen Surachate Hakpan, a senior assistant commander of the RTP known as Big Joke - told Thai Rath that Pol Col Ramet Kaewsungnoen was one of those arrested.",   The title of the story is absurd. "Big Joke involved" Yes, involved as an investigator. You have to be careful with the writers of these stories. Sometimes they do this stuff on purpose other times they are just lazy and clueless.

Patel is a common Gujarati name. Many Patels migrated to the USA. They along with the Sikhs and Tamils have moved overseas.

A drug dealer trying to curry favor.  One wonders if a bag was placed over his head to force him into paying the funds, but then was never granted his freedom that he wanted and was promised.....

Where in the hell were plastic bags mentioned?

The police could have been a little bit more imaginative - accept the bribe to drop the 'use of a fake passport' charge. let him out the front door and then arrest him on the Interpol red notice!
