Popular Post webfact
Daily News Thai Caption: Shut down the liberalization of marijuana Thai doctors connected to the influential Ramathibodi Hospital in Bangkok have called for the immediate end to the liberalization of marijuana in Thailand. The drug was taken off the Class 5 narcotics list less than 7 weeks ago. Since then there has been almost free use of marijuana with dispensaries popping up, online sales and street deals the norm. This has caught many by surprise, both pleased and aghast at what Thailand has done. The government wanted it to be just for medical use. But a current vacuum where there are few laws is being criticized by the doctors. They want the plug pulled on plans until proper public consultation and awareness campaigns are carried out. A House committee are currently looking at the laws needed. But the resident physicians, medical professionals and medical alumni - comprising 851 persons - put their names to a letter calling for a wind back during the vacuum period. They are particularly concerned about the effect on the nation's children and youth. This despite already promulgated laws connected to smoking being used to restrict marijuana use to the over 20s. The letter described recreational use of marijuana as a danger to public health in both the short and long term. No evidence was offered for this viewpoint in the Daily News story. A petition for the about turn on change.org has attracted 6,000 signatures. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-07-25 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post starky
Are they equally concerned of the such ready availability of yaba and ice? Which are simple to get despite their illegality. Are they concerned about the use of alcohol and tobacco products available literally every 5-10 metres nationwide? Can we see the studies relating to recreational use of marijuana as a danger to public health?. 47

Popular Post Photoguy21
I discussed this with a Thai doctor I knew when the law came out. Their opinion was the hospital needs a major extension to it. Laws are great but the possible consequences have to be considered before passing a law. 2 6 2 3
Popular Post Cake Monster
If the Doctors believe that Cannabis is a " Danger to Society ", just wait out a while until things are " Spiced " up a little by the Thai users. Then that will be a real problem for Society. 3 5 1 1

Popular Post webfact
Thai medics call for immediate end to recreational use of cannabis Hundreds of doctors and alumni of the Faculty of Medicine at Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, have issued a statement demanding an immediate end to the recreational use of cannabis, claiming that it poses a threat to the public health system and to the short and long-term health of the people. The statement, which was signed by 851 medical personnel, said that the Public Health Ministry’s announcement removing cannabis and hemp from Category 5 of the illegal narcotics list came into force on June 9th, while there is no policy on how to control their use, resulting in widespread use of the plants for recreational purposes, including by the young. The results, said the statement, contradict claims that the decriminalisation was intended to increase public access to medicinal cannabis. Popular Post jossthaifarang
Whether or not I'm for or against the idea. I still think it's better than alcohol simply because it removes the element of violence. When teenagers get drunk they have accidents on the roads and shoot or stab each other to death. The green cuts out the need for speed and removes the anger. No one can argue, this is fact. I have never witnessed anyone smoke some green and then go out looking for a fight, it just doesn't happen. If anything these doctors are afraid that they are going to have less customers and quieter emergency rooms. 29

Popular Post MaiDong
There are many many more things that are a danger to society in Thailand than weed, I'd say the useless education system is multitudes more dangerous. 24 7

Popular Post robsamui
For many years the Thai ruling classes has had a fatherly but condescending attitude towards its people, treating them as if they were children . . . unable to control their impulses, particularly when it comes to alcohol. The alcohol bans on religious days and at election times give the idea that, given half a chance and a day off work, Thai men will get falling-over drunk. So, suddenly opening the floodgates on cannabis makes a mockery of everything - it's utterly illogical. Either their citizens are trustworthy and can have all the silly alcohol bans lifted PLUS have free use of the happy weed (etc etc) , or they're not. Looks to me that child-like thoughtless behaviour is more evident in the spontaneous and irrational decisions that the government keeps making . . . it's bewildering.
