Max pressure allowed for PVC pipe

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the max pressure (Bar) for Blue PVC Pipe.

Preferably for both 8 and 13,5 thickness.

No worries mate!! ????

@Crossyhas the answer as always ????

Ps: The reason why I asked is because I want to up the pressure on our Pump from 2,6 to 3,6 Bar (can even go higher) and I just wanted to know that it doesn't burst the pipes (all are 13,5 spec though)

I would be more concerned about the vulcanized ("glued") connections and threads keeping tight.

Standard working pressure for 1” pipe is if I remember right 300 psi, burst pressure should be 3x.

When that is said, it is the 1” pipe only, and the connections, valves, glue etc will put other limitations on the whole line, but to have an operating pressure at 3,5 bar should be ok even with the peak pressure for start and stop.

300 psi should be 20 bar.

However, when it comes to thailand standard I have no glue, but as said, I would not worry much about the pipe, but make sure all fittings to toilets, showers, sink, valves and the work is properly done.

From TIS 17-2532 (1989)

To convert Mpa to Bar, multiply by 10.

The piping and fittings should however be able to withstand higher pressures.

For example, for a short-term hydrostatic test pressure:

I hope this helps.

Just out of curiosity what kind of pump do you have?

Wow!

They are not cheap... about 22,000 baht on Shopee.

How long have you had it?

Any problems?

Do you think is would be as good or better than this one from Mitsubishi for about 17,500 baht?

I only can say, just look at the manual and look what you can adjust + it even has a anti-cycling function!

Edit: It's running now 2 years trouble free in our Current House! We recently changed the Hitachi Inverter in our old House to this pump!

Edit: Ps: Just look this pump up on youtube and see what it does when you open 2-3-4 taps at once!! No reduction in water flow, the pump just ups the RPM
