Popular Post webfact Posted September 6, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 6, 2022 By Erich Parpart Questions are being asked whether Caretaker Prime Minister and reportedly the mastermind behind the 2014 coup – General Prawit Wongsuwon, has run out of use of General Prayut Chan-o-cha. From the looks of it, the answer to the question seems to be a big ‘yes’. Although caretaker Prime Minister Prawit has said that he would not reshuffle the Cabinet yet as he awaits the outcome of the Constitutional Court’s verdict on the fate of General Prayut’s 8-years term limit, because he wants to respect the Prime Minister. There are at least 4 Cabinet seats that are vacant and need urgent reappointment, but such a move is only likely after the Constitutional Court gives its verdict later this month. The court has already called in a meeting on September 8th and will likely hand in its verdict 15-days thereafter which could be as early as September 26th. steven100 Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 good luck with that one ..... ! ???? I don't think Khun Prayut would be overly concerned.

poskat Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 its all part of the overall master plan. prawit muscles prayuth out now, and then prayuth does another coup in a year or two to put himself back as PM. 1
Bruno123 Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 Did Prayut not admit that he was behind it or did Prawit force him to admit it? All too confusing to me ☺️ 1
Popular Post 2baht Posted September 6, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 6, 2022 Very sad when they are the only choices to run the country! Would'nt you think 60 million plus people could get someone of substance! 3

Reigntax Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 I can’t imagine with Prawit around there could possibly be any vacant seats. 1

gazza4 Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 Anutin is the anointed next-in-line for Prawit.
bdenner Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 Sorry I don't fully understand what is going on here:- If the Constitution says 8 years does that only apply to legally elected Prime Ministers? I'm thinking this court is a lame duck under the current circumstances. Am I correct in saying a coup leader, muscling his way into power is not covered under Thai Law or the Constitution and Prayut is playing some sort of game, still pulling the strings. Can anyone believe that fool Prawit is any sort of mastermind??

Witness a similar thing back in the UK where a significant proportion are manipulated into voting for a party dedicated to lessening the rights they have fought for over decades. 1 1

BKKTRAVELER Posted September 6, 2022 Posted September 6, 2022 When you thought the country couldn't go any further downhill... I feel like this circus will keep going on past next elections. Thailand as a whole should be ahead of where it is now, it is just being held back by bad management. 1

herfiehandbag Posted September 7, 2022 Posted September 7, 2022 Come on, it was a classic "palace coup". The Constitutional Court is a favourite instrument for removing Prime Ministers.

In Italy and I believe also in some other countries it is also the parliament that elects the Prime Minister. In fact, I wonder if there is any country at all where the people directly vote for the Prime Minister.
