But if lucky some heroes in the Kremlin will take care of Putin.

Seems the only way out at this point.

Nato could tell him not to resort to that or he will be attacked inside Russia.

Which probably leads to nuclear war. No body wants that as lose lose for everyone.

At the moment it's probably just talk, so hopefully no one decides to see if he's serious or not by attacking Russian territory. Personally I doubt they would, but one remembers Dr Strangelove at a time like this, and unintended consequences.

Over 1000 arrested already after protests in Russia where participation in them, could land you with 15 years in jail.

All flights out of Russia booked, any left are at a huge premium.

Here's an example:

Yesterday flights from Moscow to Yerevan/Armenia were $150, then went up to $1,400.

Now at $2,800!!

$2800 sounds cheap as compared to the extract below , copied from the BBC World news .

The price for flights from Moscow to Istanbul or Dubai reached as high as 9,200 euros ($9,119) for a one-way economy class fare following Mr Putin's announcement, the Associated Press reported.

I can understand your sentiment but in case Putin does go nuclear

what options are there for the rest of the world?

Sit back and hope he only uses a few of them?

You can not deal with people like him in a rational way,he only understands one thing, real power!

What do you suggest ?

Target the Kremlin while it is in full session, with Putin in attendance. Wipe out the entire support base for this insane war, in one fell swoop.

This could be accomplished at any time. Now or later. Clean up the place.

That would be the answer but also a very big nono in politics but i read ya.

Well, I guess now is the time for one of his own to finally put a bullet through his thick skull to stop this madness!

One thing is for sure, though, Russia will so not escape any harm, if he goes down the nuclear road!!!

It could?  With what would you target the Kremlin?  Cruise missiles?  Launched from where...?

If your answer is "tactical nukes" then sit and think what the threat from Putin is that any such action would be in response to.  Using the very weapons he threatens to use because he has threatened to use them is somewhat ugly.

Maybe sometimes lines need to be crossed? With a nuclear threat, it appears the madman may be violating some etiquette too.

A good question. Perhaps a high level covert operation. Would not be easy, but it would be very worthwhile. Certainly not by using a nuke.

Surely assassination is warranted.

A slippery slope.  What is it that Putin has done that warrants a  different Country to take such action?  There have been (and are) countless leaders who have done, or ordered, or allowed, some or all of things Putin has done, ordered, or allowed.  Should they have been assassinated?

Who makes the decision on where the line is, when it has been crossed and when action is warranted?

The assassination of Putin is most likely high on the list of targets

and this should have been carried out months ago ....  the US & NATO had ample opportunities to have him taken out.   Even just last week when several high ranking generals sat with Putin in Moscow which was an opportunity missed. They could have destroyed that building in one hit with many targets inside.   imo

1300 arrests in Russia on first day of anti-mobilization demonstrations.

He ca no longer hide the failure of his illegal war from the Russian people.

It is almost certain now that calculations are being made by candidates to replace Putin.

Replace Putin ? what will that bring ? Zelensky will not sit down for talks because he wants full revenge for the multiple war crimes , infrastructure destruction and collateral damage carried out by the Russian invasion . Indeed , who will pay for the restoration of Ukraine ? If there is to be a replacement of Putin lets hope he is a pacifist who will be accepted by Zelensky , return the gained land to Ukraine and change the image of Russia to that of a friendly country because as things stand Russia is/has become an isolated country with little or no future .

If that had happened , it would have signalled the start of WW3 because the supply of weapons to Ukraine was on the understanding that they would only be used in the defence of their country . Russia are tolerating the supply of arms by NATO to Ukraine but the minute they have an invasion in Russia , with or without NATO forces , that will start the WW3 .

Well even if best case scenario Russia does a 180, the damage is done and Ukrainians will be hostile towards Russia for generations.  Putin claims Ukrainian identity separate to Russian identity should not exist. Arguably Putin has been a grand champion of strengthening Ukrainian national Identify. The amount of long term damage that Putin has done to his own country is awesome. You can't just instantly reverse pariah status.

That seems excessive but if that happens it won't only be Moscow, it will be Europe and the USA too and nuclear winter.

War game models have shown if you start with one tactical nuke, it always leads to the worse case full on MAD result. That doesn't prove that will happen in real life, but it's not encouraging.

It really depends how it happens I think.

When people think of a nuclear strike they imagine a country launching an ICBM or similar missile / bomb with a warhead from within their borders, something that the target government will see coming and have plenty of time to retaliate and hide in their little rat hole bunkers before it hits.

So that's definitely not how it will happen.

Many minds will have been thinking about this issue for decades, that's plenty of time to prepare.

All I can suggest is how I would do it if I were ever in charge

I would have a weapon in place on the ground and ready to go, there would be no ICBM launch, no submarine launch and no high altitude bomber flying over the target.

The place would just cease to exist in an instant with no clear explanation as to what happened or how it happened and little indication of who did it.

In time they would likely find out exactly where it came from by analysing the nuclear material but by then it would be a little late.

Exactly ....... and that's what I said just before .... they ( NATO & US )  missed a golden opportunity last week.  And if this did happen it would put a stop to the WAR immediately I suspect.

why wouldn't it ?  do you really think anyone would want to continue after annihilating those murderers.

Are you really so naïve as to believe any such attack on Moscow would not be met with an immediate response.

How many civilians would be killed do you think in such an idiotic attack?

Your keyboard warrior thinking would only lead to an escalation of the Ukrainian war and even MAD if nato nations are attacked.

I can totally agree with your thinking but there is always a but,

The little Kremlin troll needs to be stopped but i a way that is acceptable for the rest of the world.Emotion should not be part of this,it is ok if a fellow comrad does him in but Nato or the US can not operate on the same level he does.We are not talking some little country far away where the CIA can do some covert operation.

Whatever happens it will not be forgotten for a very long time.

Lets just hope some one close to him will decide to become famous and kill him.
