Assuming you are referring to the LOS farang bar scene, you are showing your ignorance or are biased against sex for pleasure if paid for. Saying "Especially involving a weaker part, where equality doesn’t exist." is a giveaway that you know little about the scene.

However, ( as in every aspect of life ) a very small % will be losers, but they would likely be losers whatever they do.

Girl gets money, guy gets happy, so what's not to like?

Calling me ignorant is a good try when you simplify prostitution!

You must be very lucky then. I don't know anyone ( apart from my farmer friends ) that would carry on in their jobs if they won Lotto.

The only job I ever did that I loved passionately was in Antarctica, and the money didn't matter as we didn't need more than pocket money for bar drinks.

Back then we could only stay 1 year at a time, so sadly it ended for me, and I met my first partner after I got back, so that was the one and only time I truly enjoyed a job.

It is more about you and other people's mentally approach to life and how they cultivate interest in learning and trying to do a good job.

Some will be negative whatever they do, while others look at it as next step to something else no matter what they worked with. I had work between different jobs that if I stayed in for rest of my life, I would slowly died.

Positive thinking but again I'm wasting my time here.

Forum like this is truly a waste of time!

Some or most people  I know or knew, liked to work, who had work they cared for, was interested in, or was passionate about, and I feel sorry for those who never experienced strong feeling of joy, passion or loyalty to their work in their life and I would agree.

I guess I did word it a bit incorrectly, wasting life would be incorrect, and by no means did I mean you'd have to stop work to do what you love, but when you're working to put food on the table and working for the joy of doing a job you like, is two different things. I think those who have enough money to be financially free but continue working have a different experience than those working and living cheque to cheque or having to stress over work because if they get laid off or fired they'll have to struggle to survive. An exaggerated example would be someone like Elon Musk who has more than enough money to do anything he wants in the world but decided to pursue electronic vehicles and spaceships.

1. Pattaya. Several locations - mainly freelancers.

You said you don't hire prostitutes but you do hire freelancers.

What's the difference?

Thatscwhy I specific mentioned “

I understand the difference, but still it is your motivation it depends on. I have done many “dirty, silly and stupid jobs for shorter terms between education or travelling, but still I somehow found it interesting and also educating for me personally.

I had days I tried to find excuses to get out of bed, and that was when I quitted and found somethimg else to do.

There is no prostitution in Thailand  -  and I have no interest in labels.

The girl is a girl, beyond that it matters not.

Ah, Fair enough, but I wasn't generally happy with what was available. The good looking ones I talked to were only interested in ST.

I also liked that if I had a problem with one, I knew where they worked.

It can be very depressing to be in an environment where you pay other people to be with you , can make you feel worthless as a person and your only worth is a few bits of paper in your pocket

I refer only to the farang scene in Thailand, The Thai scene and drug addicted hookers in other countries do not concern me in any way.

You are indeed wasting your time if trying to convince anyone that actually knows about the farang scene in LOS that it's "bad".

It is a common joke based about police investigation and statements about prostitution in Pattaya

Police find no prostitution in Pattaya… again

Strictly speaking that's true. The girls work on the "escort" model, where the guy pays for their time, and they choose to do the hokey pokey as a favour to the guy. So no direct payment for sex.

The escort scene is often found in western countries.

Speak for yourself. Millions of happy farangs disagree.

Do you reckon that a western guy that loses everything to the ex wife in a divorce didn't "pay" for whatever sex he got during the marriage?

You reckon a guy buying a woman lots of drinks/ dinner isn't expecting sex after?

I did some jobs that should have been wonderful, but unfortunately the bully managers ruined them.

Seems to me that the sort of people that want to become managers are often bullies.

I knew many charge nurses on wards that didn't like actual nursing, so became managers and bullied those that did want to do nursing. Not all by any means, but even one bully is one too many.

Try and "positively" think how one can love a job when the managers are making life hell.

Strange, I don't feel deluded. Satisfied is what I feel - oh, and content; I don't sense the same feelings coming from you.

I certainly paid a lot more for same relationships in the UK.

IMO it's interesting why guys that are opposed to prostitution are convinced that sex can't be great if it's paid for. Perhaps they are trapped in marriage to a frigid woman and are jealous that anyone else can enjoy sex.

Yes, prostitutes can be more expensive in the UK

I doubt he was referring to hookers in the UK. More likely girlfriends or one night stands.

Do worry about wasting or not. Simply grab every opportunity that arises.

Indeed. Whatever we love to do, the opportunities often occur infrequently, so seize the moment and make the most of it. I think I have done that in my life as much as possible. No regrets about such times.

Hardly "millions" and I did mean its quite a depressing situation , Westerners going to Asia to pay poor females to sit with them and pretend to be happy  and pretend to like them .

Westerners may temporarily be happy sitting there, but that's just because they have a respite from being lonely for a while.

He was talking about hiring prostitutes for the night in Thailand and deluding himself that they aren't prostitutes and he doesn't pay them for sex

I very much doubt he is deluding himself, and you have no way of knowing what he really thinks. IMO it's just your opinion based on your bias against sex paid for at the time ( instead of with houses and cars etc in a marriage ).

Errrmmmm , he wrote it in the thread , he regularly picks up girls from bars and gives them 1000 Baht the next day , but he claims he doesn't use prostitutes.

He's deluding himself that they arent prostitutes

Of course it's millions and millions and millions. It's been going on for farangs since the 1970s.

I was around the farang bar scene a long time and most girls were as happy as western girls in a boring factory life would have been. Also, what factory girl gets paid to lie on their back and also given free meals and holidays at the beach?

I hope you are not saying that western girls on a one night stand with some bloke they met in a pub are more fulfilled by their sexual experience than a Thai girl getting waaaaay more money than she would working in the rice field having a one night stand with a farang?

I am talking about today though , like in Chiang Mai in the red light area bars , there are usually more bars than western men in the bars .

Like there's 50 bars and about 30 men in all the bars combined .

Now that there's a fewer customer, the ladys make less money .

It my have been an enjoyable time for all concerned about 20 years ago , but these days its just sad with a handful of old men chatting up 40 year old Thai woman with both of them behaving like teenagers

LOL. Chiang Mai has the worst night life scene I ever experienced in Thailand. It's normal there for few customers as was the case before covid when I lived next to Loi Kroh Rd, near the boxing ring bar beer complex. It was so rotten I hardly bothered going there.

For the real deal it's Bkk or Pattaya, period.

I lived there for a while as well , City House Soi 1  and the Gems other place around the corner
