House January 6 committee votes to subpoena Trump during Thursday’s hearing

What you don't note is that Trump wanted the National Guard there to protect the demonstrators.

Trump asked for troops to do 'whatever was necessary' to protect demonstrators who went on to storm the Capitol

President Donald Trump asked for National Guard troops to be deployed to protect his supporters at the rally on January 6 that culminated in hundreds of those supporters violently storming the Capitol, his former acting defense secretary told lawmakers on Wednesday.

Christopher Miller told the House Oversight and Reform Committee on Wednesday that he held a meeting with Trump on January 3, three days before the violent siege in Washington, DC, which resulted in at least five fatalities.

https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-wanted-troops-to-protect-supporters-at-capitol-says-miller-2021-5

And the truth of Miller's statement is obvious: when it turned out that it was not the demonstrators but rather Congress that was being threatened, Trump sat on his hands and did nothing. Not only that, he actually lied that he wasn't watching the event live as it unfolded on TV but rather was in meetings despite the testimony of multiple eyewitnesses.

Ex-Capitol Police Chief Says Requests For National Guard Denied 6 Times In Riots

"Sund says he requested assistance six times ahead of and during the attack on the Capitol. Each of those requests was denied or delayed, he says.

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser also wanted a light police presence at the Capitol. She reportedly wanted to avoid a similar scenario as last summer, when federal forces responded to demonstrators opposed to police abuses who assembled near the White House"

Need to have a dialogue on the Sund's request and subsequent denials for NG presence.

As a gentle reminder that Trump's choice for his defence was rejected(because Jordan absolutely shredded the false narrative on the hoax impeachment fiascos which was terminally embarrassing for the democrats and as we know resulted in 2 acquitalls and much egg on face for the democrat bigwigs)

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has vetoed two Republican nominees to the panel set to investigate the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

Citing "statements and actions" made by the pair — Reps. Jim Banks of Indiana and Jim Jordan of Ohio — Pelosi said she was rejecting their nominations "with respect for the integrity of the investigation."

"The unprecedented nature of January 6th demands this unprecedented decision," Pelosi said."

https://www.npr.org/2021/07/21/1018850848/pelosi-rejects-2-gop-nominees-for-the-jan-6-panel-citing-integrity-of-the-probe

I think you will understand that the prosecution deciding who can act as defence for the accused is as banana republic an action as it gets.

Hypothetically- because the GOP has more integrity and sense that to do it, but I wonder if when it's Biden's turn to be prosecuted and the Republicans choose who can be Biden's defence team (I'd choose Tara Reid and Cornpop for the job - you can see that is not an ideal situation for Biden fans) try to understand how bonkers it is the left choosing who can defend Trump and how ridiculous this "committee" really is.

Isn't it true that Trump actually criticized McCarthyi for opposing the appointment of alternatives to those 2 congressmen?

Trump criticizes McCarthy for pulling Republicans from Jan. 6 panel

“I think in retrospect (McCarthy should’ve put Republicans on) to just have a voice,” the former president continued. “The Republicans don’t have a voice. They don’t even have anything to say.”

https://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/politics/2022/06/22/trump-criticizes-kevin-mccarthy-for-pulling-republicans-from-jan--6-panel

"Such tremendous lies and innuendo took place yesterday at the Unselect Committee on January 6th," Trump said Wednesday on his social media platform, Truth Social. "You will never get the truth when you have biased and hateful witnesses who are allowed to go on and on without even the slightest cross examination. Republicans should be allowed representation!!!"

What does that have to do with Trump sitting on his hands as he raptly watched the events unfold on TV?

Why would he have requested before the event that the National Guard be send to avert violence but when it actually broke out do nothing? Miller's explanation makes sense. I haven't even seen you offer an alternative one to reconcile these 2 facts.

And there's this:

Trump first falsely claimed that Pelosi rejected an offer of 10,000 National Guard troops nearly a year ago — and has repeated that in speeches. Trump did not make a request for National Guard troops to secure the Capitol that day, according to Pentagon spokesman John Kirby. “We have no record of such an order being given,” he told The Washington Post’s Fact Checker.

It's a total mess, time to move on from this political diversion and concentrate on what the real issues are impacting American's.

No, it's not a total mess and trying to paint it so is just a way of evading the fact that Trump did nothing about the rioters breaking into the Capitol even as he was watching it unfold. What's more he lied and claimed he wasn't watching it because he was in meetings. Why is that a total mess? It's perfectly clear.

An attempt to steal elections is not a minor issue.

Do you or anyone have any proof? I think not OR Trump would be finished by now. Jan-6 is all but over, in about 24 days.

Tons.

He should be over but he still leads a cult where evidence doesn't matter.

Tons, but obviously not enough for the oh so prized take-down indictment.

They are very careful as he is ex president.

You can bet the house at least one indictment will come.

It proves nothing that they are slow.

Jan-6 is nothing, it should be obvious by the methods of presenting it in a scripted for television production and all one sided. Needs a proper court setting, grand juries, special prosecutors, indictments, there is none of that. What do voters care most about? Show me their main concern, or ANY concern is about jan-6. The media may have it high up on their priority of concerns but not the voters.

If it makes you feel better, Trump may get "served" a court appearance for document and records mismanagement but not much more that is circulating in the media. Where does all this go now and where should it go and what should it lead to?

More hate, more FBI hoax's, is that what the country needs?

It needs a lot of things and one of the things it needs is for Trump to finally face consequences for his crimes as no citizen is supposed to be above the law.

The house committee doesn’t indict.

There is plenty of time to indict.

Department of Justice on many possible charges. Also Atlanta which has a very strong case. Maybe New York on financial crimes.

I would suggest to you to follow facts based news more closely.

what is needed is to address the wrongs which took place on January 6, a very serious event/events which threatened to overthrow a government elected by the people.

You mentioned "the fathers brought a vision for America and Americans", but what you fail to realise was that this vision of a democratic country ruled by democratic principles was almost undone on January 6 by the action of a gang of mindless morons, led by an even more mindless leader, who stormed Capitol Hill and tried to overturn the basics of what America was built on.

They're all nut cases and now turning on each other, when Roger Stone asked Trump for a second pardon for January 6th he threw a fit.

In new exclusive footage obtained by The Daily Beast, a yet-to-be-released documentary captured Stone’s meltdown after learning no post-Jan.6 pardon was coming.

Can't repeat here because of the swear word filters but the vids in the link along with transcript.................lol
