The last time I transferred from my Wise account into Kasikorn Bank account was nearly three years ago  I would normally make the transfer at between 9pm - 10pm UK Time ( 4am - 5am Thai Time) and the funds would show up in my Kasikorn account sometime after lunch time (Thai Time).

 

I am about to start making more regular transfers, being back in Thailand and I read that expectations are 1-2 working days.  The way I think about this is that any delay is because time required for Wise to made the transfer to the Thai bank and then the bank needs time to process the transfer, hence probably its unlikely to be within the same hour from send to received.

 

What are other peoples experience of the time taken after transfer instruction for funds to be in your Thai Bank account?

Cannot say for certain, i usually transfer every couple of months when home in Thailand and during daytime. Not sure if same speed outside of banking hours.

Certainly not instant in my experience..

I have Kasikorn and the gf has Bangkok Bank.

Have transferred amounts of 300k + into both accounts and it usually comes within 48 hours. 

Probably have threads in "banking finance" forum .

Yep, definitely any time on the basis of my personal experience.

It's usually done in seconds if it's a working day.  On the weekends, it usually shows up by the following Monday lunchtime.  That said, did a transfer last Saturday and it took 7 seconds.

Must be the amount.

Once sent small amount 7,500baht to Vietnam bank account and arrived same day. 

However certainly not minutes.

 

The transfers to Thailand were 400k to one million.

I always put reason "general living expenses"

 

Have been many threads about speed of transfer. 

Never understood why. Surely people can plan in advance. 

Wise fix the rate when you confirm transfer.

Hey spambot. Why not use search WISE and read all the many many other posts and answers on this question.

Since you joined in 2011, it's been done to death.

But here's a quick summary of MY understanding of the WISE (formally Transferwise) process of say GBP from UK to Thailand where there are three partner banks which are used, Bkk, Kasikorn & Dee Money who will act as intermediary banks for any others. There is NO actual transfer between the two countries, WISE has Baht deposited in their partner banks here. It will show as a local transfer on any paperwork from WISE, and in your Thai bank.

If it is for Immigration purposes when you need it to show as a foreign transfer, those are the only three which will show it a such and you will have to get a Credit Advice from the others. You must put the reason as long term stay or buying a property for that foreign coding.

As for timescale  it is usually immediate if those two reasons are NOT used. If it is for the two reasons quoted, it should arrive shortly after 2pm the same day if instigated before about 6am, or the next day at 2pm because there is a modicum of human intervention involved. A weekend, or public holiday will affect this.

That is my understanding of the WISE system from past experience and reading previous posts on the subject. 

 

I transferred £1000 to my Bangkok bank account about a month ago, it transferred in about 4 secs. Transaction was done mid afternoon here in Thailand. I chose personal transfer as the option

In the last year or so I have done several WISE.com transfers. A US bank account to a Thai bank. Some arrive in less than one minute, some took 7 days. I think weekends and Thai holidays may have been a factor on longer transfers.

This morning done a 2k transfer at 6.30 am. UK bank - to Bangkok Bank.

Reason for transfer: Monthly living expenses.

Estimated delivery date: 2.13 pm Thai time.

 

Last month I done a transfer in the afternoon ... Hit my account 3 mins later.

 

Transferred yesterday to Kasikorn Bank was 9 seconds which is usual, i always transfer between 3-4 pm Thai time mon-fri, so banks open in UK not sure it makes any difference, but seems to work for me, the longest it has taken was 30 min and that was back in oct when the markets were all over the place

They charged 3.87EUR to send 500EUR to the Kasikorn Bank.

Banking hours make no difference. It took 6 seconds last Sunday

Let's say not particularly large sum. 

The first time you can expect several hours to a day later. 

Then you keep doing it,  the process will be quicken to few minutes or even less than a minute.

that suggests that a bot and not a hooman is performing the transfer. presumably the transfers that take longer are caused by such things as amount exceeds bot's programmed limits, the float in their local Thai bank account is depleted etc etc

Same if outside banking hours......try it at a weekend.....6 seconds.

I transfer from Wise to Kasikorn on a regular basis.

Monday to Friday usually transfers in seconds.

Weekends can take longer.

Few days ago it took around one hour from my country bank to my SCB account here in Thailand.

I transfer into Bangkok bank, says it will be in minutes, but afterwards can take days, especially over the weekend. Yet with SCB, so far after about 4 transfers, it is minutes. 

I always you wise to transfer into my Thai Bank Account and the transaction is processed immediately, depostied in my bank in less than a minute

£1,000 usually seconds...£5.000 probably tomorrow. £`10,000 likely 2/3 days and anything more can take 3/4 days.

What day did you make the transfer? If it was Friday then that would account for the delay as the banks generally dont handle transfer over the weekend.

Did a transfer this morning into Kbank, 6 seconds!

 

 

I transfer money into my Wise account….maybe an hour to do that, then a few seconds generally to make the home currency transfer to my Kasikorn account. Seems pretty efficient.
