Daily News Thai Caption: Decisive action after seeing clip

Two senior police inspectors in the southern province of Ranong have been transferred out of their precinct along with a deputy inspector after a damning clip emerged on social media.

A patrol had arrived at a downtown pub that was open after hours.

The officers were drinking there and in full view of patrons chased their sub-ordinates away.

They were drunk and apparently didn't want their evening spoiled.

Provincial chief Pol Maj-Gen Chertpong Chewprecha transferred the men to HQ.

Now at RTP HQ in Bangkok the force's spokesman Pol Maj-Gen Achayon Kraithong said that chief Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittipraphat had seen the clip and taken further decisive and swift action.

The men will face an investigative committee to determine the exact nature of their actions.

Witnesses views will be taken into account and justice for all was promised, reported Daily News

It will take some time but the RTP will get to the bottom of it, the public can be sure about that.

"It will take some time but the RTP will get to the bottom of it, the public can be sure about that."

Why do they, the RTP, say such garbage, we all know what will happen?

At least they didn't draw guns on them.  I saw one <deleted> officer do this in a Snooker hall in Phuket town years ago.

Its all a big misunderstanding, the boys were there on an under cover surveillance job.  And they had plastic bags in their pockets to prove they were on the job ????

They didn't say that, the article that the OP mocked with that sentence actually reported, "The facts must be verified as soon as possible".

Hilarious...".the exact nature of their actions."

They were drinking (probably the profits of the days takings)...they were pi**ed. Ummmm....yeh..that's it!

Well, if there's nothing more lucrative at present they'll get around to it one of these days.  Fill in the slow days ...

Where does the OP say he is mocking anything in the 'article'?

The OP also said: "It will take some time but the RTP will get to the bottom of it, the public can be sure about that."

is that also mocking?

Anyway its just Semantics?

Missing from the Asean Now article was the comment reported in original Daily News article that similar incidents has been reported in the past. This brings into question whether Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittipraphat had acted decisively. It appears that without the video clip emerging from the social media nothing would have happened. As a foreigner these incidents don't build confidence in the Thai punk police force. Hopefully I will never have to deal with them.

Did anybody ever read any follow up article about those transfers and what happens then?

How many of those officers are ever fired?

How many are prosecuted?

And how many just go back to work?
