Average speed as indicated by my bikes computer after filling it up prior to the rude and then zeroing it out fir tge return. It is how I track the routes for travel based upon the roads. If I was just cruising then max of 75 on the highway, but then you get run over by faster moving traffic. I have always driven the speed if the cars, while passing the trucks to the right, not the left side like most bike riders do.  I ride as I was trained.

You should ride as the traffic dictates, i'm sure where you were 'trained' is not the same as here, therefore making you vulnerable.

HD parts are readily available here in Thailand. HD's are being made in Thailand, so you know very little.

HD is a lifestyle or an image of who you want to be! HD is not practical to have or buy unless you are close to a dealership with proper service and parts within hours or a few days away.

 

Therefor as an European and now living in Thailand, there is better options and also more economic options.

 

I believe many still have the Image of Easy Rider or some other biker movies in their head when choosing HD. The always being a young free spirit, and a bit outlaw on the edge.

 

Quite easy to tell when you see uniformed expat riders here in Thailand, living their "dream" or the image of it. At least they trying! Some come with a unhealthy group mentality, others just look mean and bad, but actually great people, just have fun and share interest riding HD, a dream they carried for their whole life.

 

Others see the more negative aspect of what HD have represented and still do!

Nothing wrong with the roads here only some road surfacing, no worse than any other country i ridden in certainly safer than UK.

The road condition is generally good i agree, the people on them is the issue or are you suggesting it's safer to drive here than in the UK?

The Night rod is my favorite Harley having ridden most, I would have one in my collection if i had the money.

See many Harley's coming to Historic park where i live for a ride out.

There was about 15 Harley's all outrageously different a great sight to see.

Road surface here is pretty good, well outside of BKK down here in the HH/Pranburi/PKK it is, only some side roads are bad from the tractors.  Roads in the US in some spots were pretty bad and you needed to drive slow due to the undulations and soft asphalt which happens during the summer heat.  Roads I rode on in the UK were pretty beat up, well back in 2011 that is.  In the north of Thailand, Udon Thani the main roads were pretty good, its the idiot drivers that you need to be concerned of everywhere in the world.  Thai folks just don't ever look before they merge lanes on there bikes.

You don't seem to know bikers much and the bikes they are set on, a Harley owner can do whatever they want it to do, knock around,  go tour or just ride it around the place like someone with a Wave if they like.

Im well aware of the road quality here in Thailand and elsewhere, also in some parts of Uk.

 

I was merely talking about safety and accident statistics. 

 

The good thing about Thailand, is to get used to expect anything around the next corner coming at you whatever it is. Or anything anywhare.
