As with so many artists I can't find any '70 Fillmore East recordings of Pacific Gas & Electric but I did come across this excellent performance of Motor City's Burning recorded live at the Federal Drug Rehab Center in Lexington, KY, in Aug. '70.

The Grass Roots were probably best known for their '68 single, Midnight Confessions.  Another pop band that featured brass, and another AM radio standard in '68.  Found on their '68 Golden Grass: Their Greatest Hits LP.

Perhaps they're best know for a true '60's classic, the title track of their '67 Let's Live For Today LP.  This is the uncensored version so use discretion before hitting "play."

Saw them at Bardney Festival in 72. Terrible weather but their sheer exuberance won the audience over

Perhaps Sha Na Na was the first '50's retro band.  Back in the States in the late '60s there were a number of "oldie" stations.  "Oldie" being a mere 10~15 years old.   Greaser music.  A Teenager In Love off of their debut '69 Rock & Roll Is Here To Stay! album.

Just stumbled upon The Kinks performing I'm Not Like Everybody Else live somewhere sometime.  No info on this.  But it's the best version I've heard.

My neighbors are enjoying this immensely as well.  Rock 'n' roll is meant to be listened to loud.

I don't know about anyone else but I listened to that exceptional Kinks performance half a dozen times.  Of course, perhaps I'm not like everyone else.

That's gotta be one of my best finds in a long time.  That puppy has been downloaded to my archives.

Something quite different

Lovely songs she made in younger period, but changed.

Never heard of her before until one day i discovered her some years ago on youtube. I could place this, as 9 ties.

But for that matter, listen to Thai band, Nanglen band. Yeah they sing in Thai, but make very lovely songs. They are on youtube, facebook.

Pink Floyd performing One Of These Days, a BBC Radio Session recorded on 30 Sept. '71.

Doing some gardening and decided to put on Echoes to encourage seed growth.

What can I say?

Far out, tremendous. Gilmour in top form

The heart of rock imo.

Chords and rhythm to get the feet tapping and the head nodding in agreement. Then there's a wonderful tune with superb lead guitar accompaniment.

This is the tops folks.

Right you are, bannork.  It most definitely also increases the potency.  You'll notice, too, an increase in THC and it's stickiness.

The full version is a tad longer.  I understand you might be hesitant to overwhelm those little seedlings, bannork.

Radio Luxembourg, late 60s, early 70s, played wonderful music.

Imprisoned at boarding school, we would listen at night in our dormitories on tiny radios with earphones, beneath the covers to avoid detection by the patrolling prefects.

One night Radio Luxembourg played the whole Abbey Road album with Ringo talking between the tracks.

Magic.

OK some tougher sound

Though im already 63, but this one, when i found it, became my all time favorite. If I listen to music then this one always included.

Yes, it's very hard, but love it. I have a wide spread in music.

Guitar player, who died too young with great songs. Its weird so many guitar players die too young.

Garry Moore, Stevie Ray, Rick Parfit and way some more.

Continuing on with the concert series . . .

An excellent performance of The Fool by The Fixx on The King Biscuit Flower Hour.  Recorded at My Father's Place in Long Island, NY on November 30, '82.  A rarity.  Released in '96 by King Biscuit.

First time band

right after that quo followed with this song, gathered some of their albums

up to the lie album, then they really changed.

Of course this one slipped in, they made many good hard rocking numbers

so instead of the common ones, this great song, though my only album of them was "Deep purple , live in Japan"

Well you cant forget this one, Eddy (RIP) another guitar player which died recently

A band making very moody songs, they got known with "If"

You remember this pretty girl? Lovely music

Or this song, you probably know. Died too soon. What a voice.

In the mood?
