Well guns don't have to be in a locked cabinet in the USA + the gun culture of that place, is just out of control which there is none. The NRA seem to control the place, CHANGE YOUR CONSTITUSION !! du

  • Right, guns don't kill. I don't think anyone is blaming America, but I'm blaming the American obsession with guns, the position of the NRA and the outdated laws allowing this Idiocracy.

  • It's the gun that Uncle Bob gave the kid for his fifth birthday?

Very interested what the parents of the boy will say.  How the H does a 6 year old take a gun from home to school and knows how to shoot it.

A six year-old cannot ever be described as a '"young man", no matter how much you want to prejudice any future trial.

My son is 8 months old and his first word was Glock.  Second words, Get me food.  Third word, NOW!!!!

Then I woke up from my nightmare and saw my wife grab my ATM and run out the door.

Depends, 50 states, 50 sets of rule, along with county rules.  Virginia unfortunately, does not require.

But does have laws in place to punish 'parents', anyone that allows children to gain access.  (info may be dated)

Try him as an adult. Fun time for him in prison.

If  the state wants to make sure he serves hard time, he should be tried as a black adult.

Solution... Arm all the teachers and other kinder garden children with guns for protection.  America hahah

Somebody taught the boy to use the gun.  How wise was the adult who did that? What possible benefit to either boy or the adult in such teaching?  Utter stupidity all around

Don't think anyone needs to teach anyone, any age how to shoot a firearm.  Simply watching TV will do that.

Didn't see it mentioned, what was used.  A revolver, point & pull.  Semi, may be a safety involved, but certainly not hard to figure out, along with chambering a round.  6 yr old is far from stupid or incapable of figuring out the simplest things.

How to handle safely is a different story.

That's probably a typo: should read "Redneck Elementary School".

Chances are (demographic wise), wasn't a redneck.

Emphasis on 'white'

"redneck

/ˈredˌnek/

noun

DEROGATORY•INFORMAL

a working-class white person, especially a politically reactionary one from a rural area"

Kind of surprising a six year old child had the capability to even shoot a real gun. Let alone had the mentality to try to kill someone.
According to news reports.  The teacher is In very critical, life threatening condition.
The way these types of stories give some people excuses to criticize and blame America.  Like nothing ever happens in Thailand.  Try watching the local news every night.  One story after another involving some sort of violence.  Mostly for the most trivial issues.
What happened has nothing to do with America.  It stems from a very troubled child.  And how he got hold of a gun.  I’m sure the child didn’t purchase the gun due to some so called flaw in a gun control law in America.

The madness goes on:

U.S. appeals court to reconsider ban on nonviolent felons owning guns

(Reuters) - A federal appeals court on Friday said it would reconsider next month whether a federal law prohibiting nonviolent felons from owning firearms is constitutional in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's decision last year expanding gun rights.

The Philadelphia-based 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals voted to have the full court rehear the case of a Pennsylvania man convicted of welfare fraud who argued the ban violates the U.S. Constitution's Second Amendment right to bear arms.

It has all to do with the USA,it stems from very troubled stupid parents.

I am sure the kid did not buy the gun but his parents did,and for what?

The only way to stop a bad kid with a gun is a good kid with a gun?

What a sick country!

Just check the gun homicide and mass shooting data from comparable countries vs the US.

Obviously, with few exceptions, it all comes down to the parenting.  Unfortunately, something went horribly wrong it seems, after I got out of High School, and parents wanted to be the children's friend, instead of teacher or disciplinarian.  After a couple generations of that, and we are where we are.

Aside from these freak stories, unless you're a gang banger, or P'iss someone off, it's highly unlikely, you'd be a victim of firearm violence.

Most people are shot by people they know, or gang bangers.  You have a better chance of winning the lottery, than getting shot by a stranger.

I'd be inclined to blame the shooters numbskull parents rather than the constitution. I hope they get serious jail time, but I bet they won't. That part of the US is a bit of a tinderbox.

That's why personal responsibility only goes so far. Idiots need protection from themselves. That's why most countries do have strong gun control laws.

Not the first I've read of kids shooting people with daddy's gun. (Side bar; Rhode Island had no age limit on trying kids as adults but others have a limit of 13 years and higher).

Read about the result of taking away guns e.g. Australia and the American reaction is that taking away people's guns just leaves criminals as the only ones with guns. Obviously this is wrong as the decline in TOTAL gun deaths includes murders by criminals. It is pretty effective. The biggest fall in deaths (over 60%) is always suicides as guns kind of make suicide more certain than other forms of ending it.

People insist that the constitution guarantees the right to own a gun. But does it? After all, the right was never worked into the original document but was an amendment, implying that it could be amended again if desired. The 18th amendment of 1919 banned alcohol. Then it was repealed by the 21st amendment in 1933 - proving that any part of the constitution can be repealed.

People just have to want it.
