Medical Certificate - Cheap places to get one for a Motorbike Licence

Featured Replies

Apparently I need to get a Medical Certificate to apply for a 2 year initial Motorbike Licence. Anyone here have any recommended cheap places around Buakhao area where to get one?

I used a place called Buakhouw Clinic 312/81 Soi Buakhao a few months ago. It is across the street from LK metro.

Sorry don't recall the price but I thought it was a good price.

Go for a walk down 3rd road & check out clinics. Avoid Buakhao area, likely falang pay more....supply & demand stuff.

Nurse/receptionist will check blood pressure, temp, & weight.

Most docs will look at you, sign the paperwork and send you on your way without uttering a word. My doc said "you look fit".

Dress neatly & pay maximum of 200 baht.

Someone else may know an exact place?????????

Any clinic on Buakhao will charge about 150 baht, it's not a real health check so won't be expensive, good money for nothing

Lap Long Phet, any clinic, 50 to 100 Bhat, bring passport.

I think you mean, the piece of paper he needs to request is the Bai Lap Long Pear (Pae) - not so much a certificate of spice.

Any government hospital.

Yes any government hospital will know what is required for about 100 Bhat.

As has been mentioned, it's just a few basic pulse, BP and eyesight tests.

I was also given a colour blindness test which involved looking at a few cards with coloured spots and identifying the hidden number.

You will get a signed, prepared letter which the land department will want.

2nd the Buakhouw Clinic.  As mentioned bring Passport I believe it was only 100 baht not expensive.

They will give you the required form for your DL.  It is quick and convenient.

Outside most licensing offices there will be guys touting medical certificates for 50-100 baht. This has always worked for me, with no questions asked.

Lol load of nonsense. Most small clinics dotted all over Pattaya will do it for 100 - 150 baht. Dress code is irrelevant.

Not nonsense at all. Just recommending to show some class and respect.

Maybe 1980's barfly clothes are all some people have.????????

... or not

I just renewed my 5 yr last week.  Wife and myself went to clinic.  I pulled up a chair, she went to the desk, "need med cert".    We left 5 min. later, and doc didn't look at me.  As stated, 100 baht.

Same as last time I got one, no wife, and ... "I need"... "how you feel" ... "fine" ... "thank you, bye", smaller clinic & 30 baht.   Bit of a joke actually.

At DLT, impressed, as 3 eye test (color, depth, peripheral), along w/ 1 reflex test, something not even done in USA (PA / TN), as just remember the color blind w/number for 1st license.  All renews done online at home states.

Dress code at DLT;  No short, tees, sandals/flip flops.

Oops.  Didn't mean to offend you.

My thoughts were regarding motor cyclists respect for other road users.

Cheers, no offence taken. It's all in the interpretation sometimes.????????

It’s been 6 year ish now but as I recall it was fairly complex… cost 100-200 baht tops. Test consists of

observation if you can successfully hand over your passport and get money out of your wallet without dropping it….

seriously  it does have an expiry so make sure not to wait too long or you’ll have to get another.. I know I had to get second one…

Come on now. We are speaking about a 100 baht medical certificate from the numerous walk in "clinics" in Pattaya. Most dont even examine you, just ask a couple of questions. Dress code is irrelevant. As long as you are clean and dont smell if BO, it doesnt matter what you wear.
