      That's a step in the right direction. Next...update the flag with a design that's relevant to the diverse country that it has evolved as, and so the country no longer looks like a colonial outpost.

    Indeed. Although now having a Prime Minister and a Foreign Minister that don't have British / Irish ancestry is a first for Australia and an indication that the perception could soon be changing for the better.
