Are these 2000 Baht Stihl chainsaws legit?

I'm seeing these Stihl chainsaws that go for 2000 Baht. Not only Lazada, but also Google etc. And they are claiming, that it is original. Not a Chinese copy. Do you think it is legit? I have problem believing it.

Maybe it is something specially cheap made for SEA market? Dunno thou.

Send the seller a message asking, specifically, if it is a genuine, original Stihl 5200.  If they confirm, specifically, that it is and it turns out not to be the case you have all the justification that you need for a refund.

Bear in mind that Stihl has it's own manufacturing site in China which may explain the price (and the one you show is, apparently, heavily discounted) for the Asian market.

Most companies have manufacturing sites in China and most companies have their IT/software development centers in India.

You know that how?   Stihl manufactures in its China factory.

Because I own a Stihl made by Stihl in a Chinese factory.

It is probably the cheapest chainsaw they sell in Thailand.  It cost 8000 Baht.

If it looks too good to be true, it is.

Of course it’s a fake, of course it’s c*r*a*p

At ¼ the price !!!!

The Chinese can fake almost any consumer product  ,,,the guide is the price if its to good to be true  and 1/4 of regular retail price ,, then thats a red flag

Go ahead and buy one   but dont cry when  you are in A&E  with   a missing hand . leg or knob

Personally I wouldn't put my trust in something so potentially dangerous if I had any doubt whatsoever over it's authenticity. Just curious, do you have a licence for one?

11.5” bar so no licence required, though Lazada almost certainly doesn’t check, other outlets may.

So you don't know.

I bought it direct from Stihl's authorised distributor in Thailand as opposed to a retailer.

Moreover anyone with experience can easily tell the qualitative difference between a real Stihl chainsaw and a fake.

Stihl Germany website does not show any "5200" model.

None has a four digit number.

All model names start with "MS", cheapest is MS 162 at about 200 Euro (~7000 Baht).

And that has a smaller blade than this China thing.

Found a video where some China <noname>5200 is compared with a genuine Stihl.

I bet that the "5200" production has a line where they paint "Stihl" without any license.

The 5200 thing works but poor workmanship. Don't expect a life time investment.

Exactly, you have not seen the item in question so you do not know whether it is fake or not!   And the place from where you bought yours has no bearing on the online purchase that the OP seems to be considering.

That is the most ridiculous statement I have heard.

The tool is available new for ¼ of less than the price of a genuine one.

It is supplied from the largest manufacturers of counterfeit products.

Its price is less than the cost of the genuine parts, even excluding profit.

qed it is fake.

It is perfectly possible that it may work, it is even possible it may continue to work.

It may be worth the price charged, equally it may be a disaster waiting to happen and slice a 6mm slot through you. However it is not a Stihl chainesaw

Global House have a few chainsaws under 3000 baht. A much safer option than buying online.
