Military and police operations in the Fang area of Chiang Mai, northern Thailand, intercepted a drug convoy, reported Daily News.

 

The men raced off but abandoned their Mitsubishi that contained 281 kilos of "ice" or crystal meth.

 

If thet got to a third country's streets it would be worth a billion baht.

It was hidden in sacks and shoulder bags.

 

Two men fled in a Mazda but were soon picked up and ascertained that they were the ones with the drugs.

 

They were named as Geng, 36 and Nikhon, 37.

The 'value' is calculated assuming a price of 3558Bt/gm ($103/£85) which is why the words are in speech marks. They're illustrating a terminological inexactitude with a large helping of hyperbole.
