How are you "treating" the effluent? IF not treated properly releasing it in any water source could be extremely unsafe for anyone coming into contact with the water.  

Get into the habit of using the bum gun instead of paper. Haven't pumped mine in 20 years.

I am fairly certain that I didn't want to know that!

Proper toilet paper shouldn't be an issue, although might fill up the tank a little bit faster. It should disintegrate but not actually break down quickly. DO NOT put kitchen towel down as that is far more robust and could cause a blockage; also wet wipes do not decompose. But yes, bum gun best.
