Police in Phuket have located a driver wanted in connection with a hit-and-run incident in the sub-district of Rawai, on the south-east coast of the island. A female motorbike driver was injured in the incident, which occurred earlier this month.

 

The Phuket News reports that Ekkarat Plaiduang, chief of Chalong Police, has confirmed the driver has been tracked down and will face criminal charges.

 

The motorbike rider, named as 24 year old Pichaya Pengprapai, was driving past the Fisherman’s Way housing estate on Wiset Road just after midnight on March 4, when a car side-swiped her as it passed her. She was knocked from her bike and into the road, incurring minor injuries. The car did not stop.

Probably with consent of the victim and the privilege of the driver.  He'll be named when it goes to court.

Both sides have already come to an agreement on the amount of damage and loss, which the driver has paid to Ms Pichaya already
