When the farang do gooders take over

I thought today I hope Thailand or other Asian countries (Cambodia)  never gets over run by the Christian do gooders or moral police or whatever you want to call these farangs who come to live in Thailand but want to change it !

 

I was in Sydney Australia today to see Christian protestors against sex outside marriage holding up anti LGBTQ signs and anti trans signs ,and anti abortion etc they all appear to be young men with beards from a middle eastern background and Christian apparently,holding signs with crosses ,at first I thought they were of the Muslim religion but it appears they are Christian.

 

So they are against this ,that ,and the other .

 

I never forget a expat I met in Pattaya  ,he owned a shop house in jomtien he was American and on the For Rent sign he had NO BARs , Family values business only !

So nowadays these do gooders morals police Christian religious or whatever are starting to infiltrate Asia , even I see on tiktok etc the comments some guy is a pedophile because he was in a bar in Pattaya etc, 

Every middle-aged white male who goes to Thailand or Philippines is a pedo according to these right wing Christians  

 

People say the world is going woke or left wing ,I beg to differ ,it seems lately particular in Australia to be going right wing 

 

I'm sick of this ,this is my reason to escape the West ,to go somewhere where people aren't judged by their race sexuality etc.

Whether someone is ladyboy or green or blue or whatever

 

Don't go to places like Pattaya if you don't agree with it !!!

 

Don't move there and then try to change it 

 

All this anti transgender stuff at the moment going around the world , absolutely rubbish, let people lead their own lives ,putting all this moral rubbish

 

If you want to change Thailand or Cambodia or whatever STAY in your own country!

There is a lot of projection from the right-wing. If you look at who is banning books and free-speech in America, it is mostly coming from Christian nationalists and other far-right groups, and even the GOP now as they seemed to have been taken over by the MAGA crowd.

My gf told me about her village where now some people signed up to be Christians. Why?

Because it seems the preachers promised them when they become Christians then the Christian church will pay for their funeral party. Now that's a real advantage... ????

That certainly wouldn't work in our village. Every time someone dies a collection is made, small but sufficient to ensure that the deceased receives  their funeral rites. No one misses out on their final journey to the cremation oven. And eventually I expect to be making the same journey.

What's the problem?  It's his (wife's) property.  Seems the owners should have some say in limiting uses for their private rental property.

 

That's not do-goodering.  He's not out marching to have all the bars closed.  He just doesn't want to be involved in supporting them.

The truth is that 100% of sexuality is determined by genetics and nothing will transform a straight person into a gay person. Banning books achieves nothing other than promoting ignorance, unless the book advocates violence. And calling gays an abomination against God is advocating violence.

They barely register on my horizon. Social media seems to have amplified things and the media itself is "overly woke", which essentially means unconscious and pandering. 

 

As Bill Maher said recently, the things that seem important in Los Angeles, likely mean nothing in Des Moines. And how many dinner conversations do you think you will encounter in rural Ohio, about my trans child? Or my transitioning child. Or any such nonsense?

The language of this forum is English and nowhere will you find a definition of woke to support what you claim it means. Your use of the word is as an epithet, nothing more. In fact the dictionary definition of the word is precisely the opposite of what you claim it to mean.

Huh?  I've live here 15 years and other than the Christian missionaries who pretty much proselytizer to the Hill Tribes, I haven't seen what you're complaining about.
Most people I know who live here long term are quite accepting of the gay and trans culture in Thailand as are a majority of Thais I know.  Why?  Because unlike the US it isn't radicalized.  Both sides generally accept the other. 
The problems begin where either side start throwing hatred and intolerance at the other side.  I've seen it in the US.  Both sides can get really ugly. 
Overall, I don't see much intolerance for either side here.  Everybody pretty much gets along - as it should be.

With the NSW state election yesterday, all of mainland Australian Government , that is Federal and State, is now Labor or Non-Conservative.

 

Perhaps, this is their population's response to Murdoch's propaganda there about the evils of "wokeness" to excite the conservative white Christian anti- LBGTQ vote.

Yes, those are books that are not allowed in a school library , a school library didn't allow those books because they were considered to be pornographic .

  Really need to use a full sentence here "Banning books (from a school library) , rather than just say :Banning books"
