The Phuket Land Transport Office (PLTO) told the Phuket Express that relevant officials recently set up a checkpoint near Phuket International Airport in Thalang. Five taxi meter drivers were found not using the fare meter when passengers used their services. Five taxi drivers were also found using personal vehicles to transfer tourists as illegal taxis (Black Plates).
