Sex toys, dope and vaping. All should be legal and Thailand could actually become a member of the 21st century. Alas the minority consevative Buddhists rule the roost.

Yes, because all the Western world's countries are such great places because of their liberal attitudes to such things... while stomping all over the freedom of choice Thailand offers wrt sexuality.

Not quite sure I can understand the reasoning behind that?

Possibly that sex dolls, artificial vaginas and other "toys" result in a more rewarding/satisfying male masturbation experience and a consequent reduction in rapes?

Stop..   read it again .....

"The Thai Democrat Party said it supports sex toy legalization in Thailand, where they are currently illegal,                                                                                     as a controlled item to diminish sex crimes.

Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, Executive Director of the Democrat Party, revealed that there is a growing demand for sex toys in Thailand although the goods are still considered illegal.

and the real reason is ....

As a result, there have been illegal trafficking of sex toys, leading to lost revenue from uncollected taxes for the government and corruption among certain government officials.

Oh dear! The staid Democrat Party, conservative to the core, devoid of any catchy slogans since time immemorial, have finally found a gimmick.

Are their polling figures so bad this is all they can think of?

They have some decent folks in their ranks but they just can't grasp the winds of change. The young will vote for MF or PT, the grass roots will vote for PT.

The conservatives will vote for Prayut or Pravit.

There's no one left to vote for The Democrats.

Voting for Prayuth as PM will turn out to be their death knell. Just a few MPs will be left post election, plus thousands of illegal sex dolls crying out for legitimacy.

As the law stands now they are a "controlled item" to "diminish sex crimes"  according to the post.

I don't understand how banning them diminishes sex crime?

If you're talking about rape by males against females I don't see the connection with sex toys driving men to commit rape?

As for women they can get the real thing on most Sois in certain areas.

If they are not of that industry then they may find more satisfaction using a sex toy of their choosing to "fill the gap" so to speak.

5555, too funny.

Double dipping.  The upper level lads run the brothels and stuff the THB in the car.  Now they want to tax the Dildo industry so they get the THB on Both ends...per se'.

Am very happy to have vaping illegal …. so many vipers have little consideration for others …. so many times like a steam train going past

Well seems like being legal or not it's happening. Legalising it would make little difference apart from not making it criminal offence to which no one is being charged for (I've seen off duty coppers vaping) and take away the chance of the BIB fleecing tourists. I agree though. More consideration is needed from vapers.
