I bought a second hand vehicle, still got it about 16 years on. 

on the vintage voltage tv prog they are converting old bangers to electric so its worthwhile if you find a clapped out bmw or porsche 944 with a nackered engine and put batteries in it

You can get nicked walking everywhere also. No sidewalks!
