A young Canadian man was found dead in his rented condo room in Bangkok, Thailand, yesterday. Police say they are investigating suspicious evidence found inside the room.

At 2.30pm, officers at Bangrak Police Station were notified that a foreigner was found dead in his rented room on the 6th floor of a luxury condominium building on the Samyan – Silom Road. Police rushed to the scene with doctors and rescue workers from the Ruam Kantanyu Rescue Foundation.

Police found the body of 19 year old Christopher A. of Canadian nationality lying dead on his back on the bed, reports MGR Online. He was wearing a white short-sleeved T-shirt, cream trousers, and white socks.

Nearby, police found a large red backpack and a number of asthma medications which police collected as evidence.

Christopher A. was a tourist staying at the condominium with two friends of similar age, police say. His friends told the police that before the incident, Christopher A. was running around the room and having fun as usual before packing the red backpack in preparation to go out and run errands.

Is that photo from the scene, or is it a stock photo?

most likely a stock photo........I'd be surprised if it was from the scene.

Tragic of course.

Before assuming it was a fatal asthma attack, keep in mind that the fact that he had asthma medications means he had been successfully treating himself with them most likely for many years.

It should be considered but not even close to conclusive.

If you read the full article it goes on to say,

"However, police say they found suspicious evidence such as marks on Andrews’ neck to suggest he had been strangled, a belt strap, and medication. Investigating officers, therefore, coordinated with forensic officers to collect evidence from the scene."

So possible foul play.

Indeed.

Another thing.

The friends report a sudden death.

An asthma death would typically be preceeded by a long spell of heavy wheezing (time to get to a hospital).

WTF does it matter what coloured clothes he was wearing?

How is that relevant to the story?

The story has no relevance to anybody except people who knew him.

Nobody who thinks this is a bit weird: "Andrews was running around the room and having fun as usual"?

I was going to say the same thing. If that's not a severe mistranslation then I hope the police are keeping a very close eye on the person who said that.
