Tenant leaves condo in shocking state after not paying rent for 4 months

The owner of a luxury condominium reported a shocking discovery after opening a rented room to find it packed with garbage. The tenant, a beautiful young woman, had been renting the room for four months and claimed she was unable to clean it up because she had undergone breast augmentation surgery.

 

Yesterday, the owner of the high-end condominium reported via the “Morning Tales” Facebook page that they had leased the room for one year to a young woman for 10,000 baht per month. Throughout the past year, the woman had been paying her rent as agreed. However, during the period between February and April, the tenant failed to pay her rent. The owner contacted her to settle the rent arrears or vacate the premise, and the woman agreed to clear her debts in instalments. The owner generously allowed her to do so.

Despite these arrangements, the young tenant disappeared once again, and the landlord could not reach her. Out of concern, the owner decided to inspect the room, only to find it in an appalling state. Instead of the once well-maintained condo, the room had turned into a storage room filled with rubbish – used sanitary pads, food waste, and even a refrigerator filled with rotten items and crawling with maggots. The bathroom also resembled a garbage dump.

10,000 baht a month rent a month is the kind of rent you pay at a high-end condominium, 50-75,000 baht will be more like it, and yes, some renters do live in a shocking mess and live the place messy.

They can be as filthy, or more so, than a three-toed ugly old man. Moved into this semi-nice place many moons ago as the previous tenant—a pretty (fairly young), professional (no, not bar girl) was in the process of moving out. What an absolute sty she’d left it in. Needless to say, it was a good few hours before they got it presentable enough.

Depends where you are; Sukhumvit or Silom no, but you can get a tidy one-bed furnished place in a fairly new development (with pool, gym etc) in a good location in Chiang Mai for 10-12k.

The walls and windows and furniture are clean, I don't see any crawling creatures on the floor, it's not really so bad. Maybe a few hours work for a professional cleaner.

Luxury, high end for 10-12k??????

 

It may be nice, but luxury may be stretching it.

I guess we would have to see where the writer lives first and how much he or she pays in rent to understand their perception of high end.

High end in compare to a 1-1800 Baht condo (some of my staff pay like that)

Exaggerated for effect, that is mostly already in bags, shopping online by the boxes, that could be clearned by 2 people in probably 2 hours or less. It's all mostly surface stuff.

Looks lik bagged refuse and just too lazy to carry it downstairs so just left it there and it piled up.

Tidy isn't the same as high end

In this case, 'high-end' probably means it was a cupboard on an upper floor of a 'sky box' style residential condo.

Yep, 10k for a high end condo. Gives some perspective on how badly a certain class of people is being fleeced.

There are these threads quite often here.

 

There have been worse.

 

Room Rater gives this one a 4/10 with 0 being perfectly clean, and 10 being trash piled up more than 1 meter. Not that it matters though as you're not getting your deposit returned, whether as a 0 or as a 10.

 

 

My guess is the young woman didn't know how to dispose of the trash, or was embarassed to be seen ferrying trash in public (phobia) or was a bit lazy.

 

 

How is trash handled in these high rise condos? Are there receptacles on some number of floors, in the parking floors, outside?

Normally every floor has a garbage room where the things could be thrown away. Really easy process!

Every time I see these stories the first thing that comes to mind is: was the Landlord not giving back the deposit? I have felt a few times wishing I had empties all the bins and any other rubbish I could find after being ripped off by a landlord and not just in Thailand.  I've been hit with the 4x plus normal electricity charge coincidentally the amount of the owed deposit a few times in Thailand.

   From the photos, this looks like the same tenant my partner and I had a few years ago.  She was also well-dressed and groomed but left an appalling mess.

Seems once the breast surgery was done she lost her ability to earn money and fell behind with the rent.

As for the room, well the girl may look beautiful on the outside when sitting at the bar, but she ain't no house cleaner for sure.

Chiang Mai is a bad comparison with Bangkok .
