In my opinion, there are only two sports worth mentioning. Sitting down while going backwards, and sailing while becalmed. Also, clamming. The sport of clamming has many rewards. Digging clams out of the dark muck. And then, swallowing them raw. I used to work in north-west Australia, where anyone could gather fresh oysters from miles of reefs when the tide was out. Perhaps you have not heard of the antipodean sport of farnarkling.

When you have it all, it kind of loose its interests, and new ideas, goals and dreams comes as distractions on a pearl on a string ???? A friend of me told me after reaching his goals, when you reach your goals, and finances is not an issua anymore, the most important is to continue living as you have done while you gained your wealth, and secured it. The only difference now, is that I can buy things and properties that is good investments instead of only affording things and properties that really do not increase in values. He have lived true to his vision now for 20 years, and it works. 1

GammaGlobulin
The Hamptons. I would willingly retire in the Hamptons. How much could it cost? In one case it cost a few lives. What about those crazy sisters on the Hamptons? Lovable dolls. Anyway, if I had the money, Hamptons for me... With plenty of clams waiting upon me. My life in Thailand is not stressful. I feel okay walking anywhere I want, going where I want. I've never felt threatened or in danger. In the US and even in Hawaii, I'm always looking over my shoulder. The absence of stress and fear is priceless. I do admit that in a perfect imagined world, life would be great on the Robin Masters estate. Edited May 28, 2023 by John Drake

Hummin
After reconsidering all options, if I had all financial resources needed, I would relocate to Switzerland, and have that as a home and a base for my life. So many things in Switzerland that makes sense from nature beauty, climate to air, and water quality, food and wine, as well quite fair tax system. Future Security is also an important issue. 1

Let's say you're talking 50 million plus and then I think I would go really big and study the lives of Russian oligarchs. Not sure if I would buy places but I would "slow travel" much of the time to places like London and New York in good weather seasons (for the culture and live theater), and would mix in tropical paradises in luxury compounds. I would probably get all piggy and become a client of the "Nomad Capitalist" to avoid over taxation based on residency, give up my U.S. citizenship, and put a higher value on preserving health and longevity. I might not come to Thailand ever again as I think I would favor safer more developed destinations. To add, if it was "just" a few million I buy a modest home for cash in the U.S. for about 400K in a place like Asheville North Carolina, enjoy life, and travel abroad as much or as little as I felt like. "a place like Asheville North Carolina".... Asheville is one of the most beautiful places I've seen. Especially in the winter. The Biltmore Estate is amazing. Estes Park, Colorado and Monaco are the other two places I'd consider the most beautiful I've ever seen. "A few million isn't really rich."... It actually is, especially if your home is paid for.
