  • I got a new 5-year licence yesterday. I'd been in the UK last year when the original 2-year licence expired, so after a lot of pondering I decided to let it go until after my birthday in late-May so t

You need to go to the Banglamung licence office in person to make an appointment. You will need to show your licence and passport. They will then give you a date, you can decide if you want morni

  • Go and do it yourself without lining the pockets of some agency. I did mine yesterday and was out of there in an hour and half with two new 5 year licenses. A real doddle to do. I spotted a

Piggy backing on this thread with question.

My DLT Queue booking has been and gone - I had to travel overseas so missed the appointment.

Thus: I'm rebooking on the DLT Queue App - but I'll be in BKK for a short two week window before travelling overseas again - All appointments are booked for that window.

BUT... I still have the 'old QR code' for my previous booking - has anyone just turned up and 'flashed a QR code' and the staff at the DLT (Area 3 Bkk) don't really look at it in detail and thats it - you're in ???

When getting our International Drivers Permits - Wifey had a QR code showing a booking for a month away (long queues at the time) but she chanced it and they didn't check the date.

I'm wondering how lax they are at the DLT with actually checking the QR code booking....

Who told you this? Never ever heard anything like that. We can only get 2 year temporary licences and 2 year renewals, especially on a DTV.

I had just read it here, so,

There is no 'definite' outcome with what we receive...   (That's Thailand in a nutshell !).

I have personal experience of this.

A number of years ago - I went for renewal (with a yellow house book / Pink ID / Thai Elite Visa etc) and was only issued a 2 year renewal (down-graded from a previous 5 year).

Two years later - with exactly the same documentation, I was issued a 5 year renewal.

Two different visits to exactly the same DLT office - two separate outcomes.

Are people now allowed to book a spot via the DLT Queue App in Pattaya? In the past, it wasn't possible. At least, a year ago it wasn't possible.

I don't know - register with the DLT Smart Queue App and find out I guess -  Chonburi is listed on the app

Pattaya/Banglamung --first appointment must be made in person (not via the Queue app) with current licence and passport. They will give you a paper with the list of what's required on the actual licence renewal day (which is probably 2-3 weeks hence).
