Covid test: Do they really have to put that stick up the nose trying to reach the brain?

Featured Replies

Yesterday a nurse in a hospital tested me for Covid.

She put that little stick up my nose as if she was trying to reach my brain? It hurt.

Is that really necessary to have a valid test?

Would it be good enough to put that stick just a little bit up the nose?

Did they have you in a little plastic box, those nurses are sadistic.

Reaching your brain being an impossible task, I am sure using other bodily orifices could be arranged at an extra cost ????

Ah, the dreaded rectal covid test, China tried to put in place back in Jan 2021. Turns out the world thought ritual humiliation by the Celestial Empire was one indignity too much. Especially from the country that spawned the virus, helped spread it,  and takes no responsibility for either of those facts. Still you could probably pick one up on the internet.

This always seemed nefarious to me, after all, if it is supposedly spread by breathing, surely just a breath sample or mouth swab would suffice.

I remember watching that scene in Total Recall a long time ago. Just watching it felt terrible.

Stop the flattering, it hurts! ????

It's inconvenient but necessary for a proper test.

Just a little bit is not enough.

They were readily available in the US.
