It's a public forum, let's be honest, none of us are solving world problems in here with our witty, hurriedly typed, copied and pasted "first page of google search" responses. Many of which are typed whilst sitting on ???? maybe??

And worgeordie is correct, Liverpool Lou will be along shortly with two pages of "sorting you lot out"

You can summon him easily enough.

Just state a "fact" you feel in your heart to be true about living in Thailand.   ..and sound very definite about it.

...all in good fun, just kidding.

I regard it as a way to mark incorrect information, so people don't accept it as fact and act on it.

A comment like: "You can still get Covid extentions, don't worry about it." can easily trick someone into believing it's true, but if it has 18 confused emojis, that's a clear indication that something's fishy and might make the person ready more replies in the topic.

Ok post 1 million examples

It is called "hyperbole" big bird.

Some millions of people believe for example that a jewish rabbi was persecuted and killed by the Roman empire and for that fact they are going to some kind of eternal afterlife where they can eat shrimp now because that one simple murder created a new religion with new rules

Donald Trump says he won the 2020 US presidential election

My ex-wife says "Sunkist 100 percent orange juice" sold in USA has added sugar

Now I can't prove a negative so I don't bother. Trump's own legal teams went to dozens of courts of law and similarly to the previous myth have never provided a single shred of evidence. That woman is so stubborn she won't believe me no matter what is written on the carton.

If you say opinions cannot be false if the ideas are sincerely held by the person I can agree with that but that does not make it true, as in a reliable fact.

I like the one where millions of people believe scientists that say the universe, which is all matter, just happened to come from nothing. Matter created from nothing. That it came from a singularity,a speck of matter, but what created that singularity, or did it just "happen". A lot of us know better, although you could say that's others opinions. Could be, but who wants to take that chance, because the outcome is permanent either way?

When I mark a post "confused" I usually mean the poster seems confused.

you seem confused about it, replying is a better option.

So when ones partner says something they don't agree with or don't understand they don't discuss it they give an emoji instead?

Unfortunately, freedom of speech is a dying form throughout most of the world now. This is evident on many social media sites such as Twitter, Google and others. Emojis are a form of an expression of speech and are not wrong.

Saying a product has no sugar is a guess if you really dont know. Saying I hated Pattaya after going is a valid opinion. Saying I hate Pattaya without going is a guess.

No scientist ever said matter came from nothing. Don't be deceitful and please do some research. There have probably been "millions" of universes and never  one single solitary god. Or else billions of people must be right just because they happened to be born in BKK, Amman, or Katy, Texas,

You have never juiced an orange? Why would they lie and add cost to the product anyway.

The only icons I use occasionally are the thanks, thumbs up and love icons. The others are too vague.

For instance the haha icon, are you laughing at a funny comment or laughing at the poster because they've posted something silly?

Equally with the sad icon, are you sad because the subject matter is sad or because the poster is?

And the confused icon can have two meanings too.

The benefit of icons is to provide clarity but without comment some can be pointless.

Sometimes I click on confused when someone makes a comment like: All women in Thailand are only interested in money.

I react with confused because I don't understand how a person with at least a little of a brain can think like that.

I don't ask: Why do you think so? Because if the person who writes something like that would actually think, then he would know that not all people are the same.

I mostly also don't write something like: No, that is not true, some people are like this, and some are like that. What would be the point of writing something obvious?

Maybe I think: Why are you writing something stupid like that? But there is no emoji for that. The nearest one is ????

I'm not being deceitful. I meant the scientists that say there was a Big Bang, meaning everything came from a singularity, which is matter. Matter can not come from nothing. Guessing there has been more than one universe is an opinion, a guess. If there were more than one God, you would see evidence of them fighting for control. Our only God chooses to remain silent. It's called our faith, and isn't a subject for this post. You have your opinion, and you will see for yourself when you pass, and then it might be too late for you.

Totally agree, but then again, if someone is confused by the most simple posts, maybe they just are'nt smart enough to get it!

Back when we had a name attached to the confused  emoji I would often think when I saw one . "No surprise there"

Emojis if used to stalk another member is against forum rules and that member if he persists in stalking could have his emojis removed.

I started a thread about that to no avail.????

There is a guy with the unusual moniker  "somebody  " harassing me by always reacting to my posts . (see screenshot below") if you could do something about him it would be highly appreciated

What a great idea!! you can have emojis on a stick and anytime the wife says something you  feel strongly about you can raise the appropriate emoji.

That's true. All serious scientists say they don't know but can hypothesize based on available facts.

Written confrontation about opinions just creates problems and others chime in many times anger happens and everything gets deleted.

But, why care so much and take it personally it is just easier to post an emoji anyway.

Topic moved to pub forum

Having your 'emojis' removed seems quite painful, my dog was not happy when his were.????

The ex-wife said I should seriously seek professional help.  I took her advice and went out into the night and picked up a pro.  Had a hell of a time, best $40 I ever spent.  Great advice, hun.
