Pitbull Attack in Chonburi Ends Tragically

In a tragic incident in Chonburi on July 26th at 6:30 pm, a two-year-old male pitbull broke free from a townhouse and aggressively pursued a 73-year-old man, Wisit Santhayapilas.

 

The dog bit him multiple times causing deep wounds, especially noticeable on his right eyebrow. Rescue workers rushed to the scene in Soi 5, Wang Hin area of Sri Racha district after receiving the distress call, reported Daily News.

 

They provided first aid to the injured man, who hails from Samut Prakan, before transferring him to Phya Thai Sri Racha Hospital.

 

Eyewitnesses, including a local vendor, stated the pitbull was from a nearby townhouse and usually lived with a young boy.

 

It is believed the dog escaped due to an inadvertently unlocked gate. Before targeting the elderly man, the dog had also tried to attack a young woman.

 

Local residents intervened, restraining the aggressive dog by tying its mouth and feet, resulting in its unfortunate death, presumably due to suffocation.

Some dog breeds are no better than wild animals once they roam free, and keeping them be  licenced by special permits.

I lived in a southern rural area full of rental mobile homes, confederate flags, and lots of pitbulls tied up in the yards(to protect their valuable assets? or meth lab?)....it was not unusual to have several break free every year and maul someone that had the bad luck to be walking down the street...so of course you can sue the owner and most likely can win a judgement but if the owner is dirt poor with no assets and no job good luck ever collecting anything.

I started with 14 in a kennel club and the owner was a well known police leader.

His dogs were high priced guard dogs, drug dogs and 2 have been even trained as guides for disabled people with a poor eye sight..

 

...Unfortunately this won't happen if you are not spending twice a day 15 minutes and teach your dogs.

You can teach it in many ways and also a Pitbull can be a lovely "person"

I say "person" because its the owner that reflects the behaviour of the dog.. 

 

Most people take their dogs for a run but never teach them the needed lessons.. 

Unfortunately the owners mostly get away with it because the dog attacks first and outsider.

Medical expenses + trauma is getting off light. Time to quit coddling accessories to violent crime.. If the pet is criminal, the owners are too. Jail Time, plus damages.

Sadly people still make excuses for the violent monsters, it's never the dogs fault :

 

1 dog must have been provoked

2 poor training

3 my Pittie would not hurt a fly

4 no bad dogs only bad owners

 

Pitbulls are banned in several countries for a good reason- they are too dangerous to be kept as pets, almost weapons on legs. The problem has been to get round bans morons cross breed them, now we have the bully breeds, some of which are even more powerful, they all need to be banned. Bully's have killed 15 people in the last 18 months in the UK, they must have been provoked!

Labradors are by far a more common large dog pet and I suggest your stats do not take that into account.

Says no countries except USA and Canada allow imports of Pitbulls, so how do Thais get their hands on these killers then? Ban has proved ineffective due to cross breeding, all the time you see people saying thats not a Pitbull after an attack, but it will be a bully breed, as bad if not worse.

i nearly got mauled (not in thailand). it was trying to break away from it's owner's leash. they guy was holding it back with all it's might. 

 

these things should not be allowed to breed and be forced into exctinction.

true. In that case.......put those animals (and i mean the dogs in this case) to sleep. They dont belong in the society.

Because "PitBull" isn't really a breed. It's a broad classification of several breeds, often misused to wrongly identify dogs for the sake of a headline in tabloid style journalism.

 

Another reason that breed specific legislation is so stupid.

 

Judging by the size of the dog in the OP it is a crossbreed, possibly with some Mastiff in there.
