An incredibly ignorant generalization.

Dr Phil, Jamie Foxx, Tom Brady, Jennifer Aniston, Cesar Millan, Jon Berthnall. All "no good" people people presumably?

Followed by an incredibly obscure and irrelevant justification.

So a few delightfully entertaining Hollywood stars have the same breed of dog as a lot of socially challenged people with questionable motives?

Consider your point NOT made.

Because "PitBull" isn't really a breed. It's a broad classification of several breeds, often misused to wrongly identify dogs for the sake of a headline in tabloid style journalism.

Another reason that breed specific legislation is so stupid.

Judging by the size of the dog in the OP it is a crossbreed, possibly with some Mastiff in there.

Spot the "Pitbull".

And the point is what?

This is nonsense, you don't need an absolute standard with 0% margin of error. People know full well what a pitfall is and what types of owners are especially worrisome when they keep them. The dog genome is well documented and you could classify the breed with precision if you really wanted to.

Sorry, did I use too many long words. Allow me to simplify.

You cannot ban "PitBulls" because they are not a breed.

If you live in America you'll know the type. Middle class people of any race doesn't keep pit bulls on literal chains and clip their ears etc... it's a always a specific type of thug.

I've never been called worrisome before.... ????

Why are you turning it into a black and white thing?

Do you really know how to use long words?

In other words, all types of people own PitBulls so the crass generalizations are borne out of fear and ignorance.

You've only got to look at the post above with a bunch of black people with PitBulls and the inference "look at who owns these things". These threads are a magnet for bigotry.

You've lost the ability to see shades of gray. Purple doesn't exist because it's between red and blue?

Race doesn't because it's a social construct?

Yes, but I often find it problematic when dealing with people who don't understand them.

Because the same type of white and black person owns pit bulls??? Maybe you're different but pay attention to who prefers these breeds. That's a large reason we have so many problems with them.

Great this beast is now out of action for good.

Pit Bulls were selectively bred for dog fighting and the ability to finish a fight. The traits of robust jaw strength, a deadly bite style, tenacity (gameness) and a high tolerance to pain is there by design.

"hold and shake" bite style, designed to inflict the maximum damage possible on their victims. This bite trait delivered winning results in the fighting pit. When the Colorado Supreme Court upheld the Denver pit bull ban in 2005, the high court set aside characteristics that pit bulls displayed when they attack that differ from all other dog breeds. One of these characteristics was their lethal bite:

"[pit bulls] inflicted more serious wounds than other breeds. They tend to attack the deep muscles, to hold on, to shake, and to cause ripping of tissues. Pit bull attacks were compared to shark attacks."

Seems not, we've moved on to Bornean Orangutans and Bengal Tigers!

Do keep up!

Not true. I hardly ever see middle class people with them. The owners are part of the problem here too.

No, people don't know full well what a "Pitfall" is as this thread so brilliantly demonstrates.????

Their bigoted views on the owners (including a picture of a group of black people walking their dogs) has already been debunked.

Like I said, these threads are a magnet for the ignorant.

Tragic? What a load of bull.

Look at the victim. He's 73. Bite marks near the left eye. He could have lost his sight or his life. THAT is the tragedy.

The dog should die. The owner must face legal consequences.

Good point well made.

The pittie that languishes poolside in an 12-bedroom Beverly Hills sprawl or has the run of a 10-acre estate in Berkshire has an inarguably better life than the one chained on the balcony of an apartment in the Mission District or cooped up in a Toxteth high-rise.

Tom Brady was a big player in Sam Bankman's crypto fraud.  So he is like the former CEC President times a million.  There's about 5000 better looking chicks up at CMU than his supermodel eurotrash wife, too.

Denver banned pitbulls, you can look up the wording.  About one in a hundred thais are responsible pet owners., and that would give benefit of the doubt to those with large dogs and almost zero land.

Luckily it did die, one problem solved.

Trash breed owned by trash people

Having a pub favored by pikeys in my mate's neigborhood, I can relate with that sweeping generalization.

The dirty, dinged up BMW 7's parked half on the pavement or the Burberry seat covers on their Land Rover Disco is a dead giveaway. The pittie tied up outside is simply a bonus.

So are Staffordshire Bull Terriers ok?

BS. make a test which shows a lis of all dog breeds at random and people will have something like a 95% success rate of selecting the pit bull.

here's a question for you, in America which races prefer which breeds? I don't have the data but I'm certain blacks and hispanics prefer pit bulls at a much greater rate than whites and asians. 0% chance all races prefer all breeds equally.
