FREE haircuts at Big C Extra (Klang) - no more?

Featured Replies

Used to be every Saturday at Big C Extra where students from a hair school were giving free haircuts, right next to the food court. Went today and there's a clothes stall there now. Anyone know if this has been discontinued?

This is the one:

Great service, especially for some of the less fortunate residents in the area who may not have the funds to pay for a haircut. Sorry if the program has been discontinued.

I would bet the school still provides the service .. just somewhere else.

check it out!

They still have free haircuts opposite Tukom, I see them all the time (not sure which specific days but I'm thinking Friday?)

The free haircuts are still available over the road from Tukcom in South Road every Friday.

Reckon the 'cuts have been on South Pattaya Rd for a long time (apart from covid scare.)

Great initiative.

But seeing "aliens" getting a free cut while broadcasting to MSM is stretching it?????????

Never saw it, although I admit to hardly ever going there on Saturdays.

Is it at a specific shop opposite Tukcom or do they do it outside? What time do they start and finish on Fridays? Thanks

Why would you not? Gives the students experience cutting hair and my hair only takes about 2 mins to do a full head shave with the clippers. ????

Amazing how a thread about if they stop give free haircuts, can attract so many foreigners in Thailand. Now I totally understand how much many really struggle to can live up to the requirements to stay and extension of visa. ????????????

How extremely ridiculous!

You're on the thread too, so maybe you're looking for a free haircut

Nah, just saw the silly headline in the side bar, and only went in for that comment. However, now you needed an explanation also, so you made a second comment.

It's on the footpath just before soi Bukhao entrance. About 3 or 4 barber chairs from memory. I saw them around 10ish (not sure start finish time)

Exactly, even if it's free you would probably leave a 50-100 baht tip. Might as well just go at your convenience to a barber shop.

I get a haircut every time I check out at Big C, or any other supermarket for that matter

Why would you leave a 100 baht tip for something that is free. You are training the students for free so that's enough tip

Reminds me of people giving 50 baht tip for a 50 baht beer, ridiculous overpayers ????

(Note I paid 300 baht for my worst haircut ever in May, would have gladly taken a student haircut instead)
