Phuket – A wanted suspect was arrested in Thalang after he allegedly raped a 12-year-old girl in Phatthalung.

Police from the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) told TPN media that earlier this week they have arrested a man identified only as Mr. Somkiet (Sathit) (Age was not given) at a house in Pa Klok. He is being accused of raping a child under 13 years old, trespassing, and using an illegal drug (methamphetamine).

The arrest followed an incident in March 2018 where the suspect, who knew the victim, a 12 year-old girl, went into her house when her parents were not at home.

The RTP seem to condone raping kids/adults so many stories here on the cops not following up on reports, and giving bail to rapists. 5 yrs to catch this perb. proves my point, and I bet it was on a tip, not by their diligence.

Not condone, but fail to act unless they see a profit for themselves.

IMO letting something wrong happen, and you have the power to stop it, then your condoning it by not stopping it happen. Profit or none  'tis the same.

The father filed a report to the police and the suspect was arrested but he requested bail during the court process which was later granted. However, the suspect then escaped and went into hiding in Phuket for five years before he was arrested.

The suspect remains in custody as of press time.

Maybe keep him in custody this time and makes sure he ends up behind bars... hopefully with some shirt-lifters who like rapists.

The system should never allow someone accused of this to be granted bail and these cases should be expedited.
