A motorcyclist met his end after he lost control and hit an electricity pole in a tragic fatal accident. What made this accident unusual was that a lorry driver then parked his vehicle over the motorcyclist’s body to prevent further damage.

The incident took place around 4am today, on the Chon Buri-Ban Bueng Economic Road, Nong Ree Subdistrict, Chon Buri Province. The motorcyclist, wearing jeans and a shirt, aged between 25 and 35 years old, suffered severe injuries, including a fractured skull and broken ribs.

Initially, the deceased motorcyclist’s body was found under a 22-wheel Hino lorry with license plates from Rayong. There were traces of brake marks and blood on the lorry’s wheels, reported KhaoSod.

From the link;  "He parked his lorry over the body to prevent other vehicles from causing further harm."

That's makes no sense,   why not just park directly behind the victim?

Doesn't matter, he gave his explanation and an eye witness confirmed the lorry driver's account of what happened.

Was the motorcyclist possibly still alive then the lorry ran over him ?

Have I missed something in this report ?

Yes, you missed a lot, the lorry did not run over him, read the full OP, it's in the link.

Don't believe everything you read. A wise man once said that.

Same bloke said that about what's posted here by members, also.   As this is a "reading" forum, what else is there to go on?

With Thai drivers using both sides of the road, and inability to anticipate problems, it's quite possible that somebody could run over the body by only seeing the truck and then collide with the truck after the jolt from hitting the body.

There is 'discussion' to go on...

....because, this is not a reading forum, it's a 'forum designed for discussion'...

IF it were just a 'reading forum' there would be nowhere for discussion !

Thus, when something is reported the veracity of the report is brought in to question, particularly from Thai news articles as they are often very poorly written without any fact checking.

In this article I'd question if 'over' actually means 'over' or if the Lorry just parked behind the body.

OR, maybe the as other posters mentioned, maybe the lorry driver did accidentally hit him and then wonder what to do.

Was the 'witness' statement accurate - isn't it widely known already that witness statements can unreliable, particularly in low lighting etc.

There is a lot of potential discussion about news articles we read on this forum because of the quality of source material.... Unless of course you are someone as mentally naive as yourself (LL) who blindly accepts the 'written word' as fact and then argues with every poster who does not agree 100% with a poorly written article.

Your responses on this thread are as pedantic as they are predictable.

No mention of the pole having being erected so close to the edge of the road that it presents a hazard.

Indeed...   Thats that such objects are placed so close to the road all over Thailand is surely one of the leading factors causing death on Thailands roads...

... of course, other factors too... but there are a lot of obstacles to hit in Thailand which are very close to the road.

He also went on to state.

Only believe 70 % of what you see.

and 20% of what you hear in Thailand.

'The police will review CCTV footage to verify the lorry driver’s claim and proceed with legal action accordingly.'  Amazing how well these CCTV cameras work AFTER an accident yet are ignored the rest of the time.  If speedsters & red-light runners were prosecuted for offences the rest of the day, such tragedies would be drastically reduced.
