Public Health minister Dr Cholnan Srikaew has defended his decision to appoint his wife, Dr Nuansakul Bamrungpong, as one of his advisors, insisting she has long experience in public health communications.

 

“The appointment will not create a conflict of interest and she will not receive a salary,” Cholnan said on Wednesday.

He admitted that the decision poses a risk for him, but he trusts and has confidence in his wife. “She has been by my side for long time, including helping me in election campaigns,” he said.

 

Dr Nuansakul is assigned to help in the dissemination of public health and medical information, as well as solving any communication problems among the personnel and agencies of the ministry, Cholnan said.

Nepotism is rarely ever a winning management strategy.

 

I'm surprised this man, who is a Doctor, needs his wife to help make decisions related to the Public Health of the Thai citizens.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Did he list any of her health service qualifications apart from helping him in election campaigns? You couldn't make this stuff up ????????????????

Many middle aged wives dominate their husbands informally, he has just made it formal. 

Surprised he doesn't do the same as UK ministers and appoint his girlfriend as special advisor who goes on trips with him and leave the old boot at home.

I have just watched 'I Claudius' for the second time after it was first shown on the BBC. It depicts conniving wives advising their husbands. With disastrous results.????
