Rather a vague post. What surgery is needed?

If you are talking about  nasal Polyps causing sinus, don't mess with these as they can turn cancerous as they did with me.

You need to be more specific in why your friend needs surgery.  And where your friend is located.

Ask your friend for more info and come back to us. Then we may have some good suggestions for them.

Hi,

Due to a couple of broken noses when I was young, I had a deviated septum and nasal polyps.  I suffered for years.  One sneeze and I'd get a sinus infection.

I visited 3 of the major hospitals in the Pattaya/Siricha area.  All of them said, "We want to avoid surgery, use sinus spray and flushes to control it."  They also said "Here is your prescription and bill, see you next month".

Then I went to Bumrungrad in Bangkok.  (This was about 8 years ago).  I'm fairly confident I met with Prayuth Tunsuriyawong but as I write I'm only basing that on the photo from the website.
That doctor changed my life.  I had 3 procedures done (at the same time).  I had endoscopic surgery, septoplasty and Ultrasonic turbinate reduction.
About 1 day recovery in the hospital and about 2 weeks of recovery otherwise, and wow, I can breathe through my nose at all times and haven't had an infection since.
When I told this doctor what the previous 3 doctors had said, "Avoid surgery"  he laughed and said, "Why would they say that?  Surgery will solve the problem!"

Best of luck to you and your friend.

Edit:  I think the bill for everything was just under 300k.

Prednisolone got rid of my polyps two years ago. No further problems.

I had a Sinus operation done in Belgium in 1987 after a massive Sinus attack.
The surgery was a "Luc-Caldwell" operation and consisted by injecting a fluid in your Sinus cavity trough the palate of your mouth, which will prevent to develop again Sinussitis.
Since 1981 no Sinussitis anymore.

ENT doctor in Phyathai hospital, Sri Racha, fixed the wife's sinus problems a couple of years ago, no further problems since. Very good and efficient service, good post surgery and after care.

Do you recall the medical term for your sinus problem?

What is similar to the below?
